Family Pet Salon

I have been taking my shih-tzus to Family Pet Salon since they were puppies (a little over two years). The salon changed ownership somewhere during that time. The new owner, Kerri, does a fantastic job. Whenever I take my dogs to the vet, they always want to know who grooms them because they look so good. I keep them in a puppy cut and the cut is always precise (does not look choppy). They do an outstanding job, are great with animals, and are very sweet people to work with. My dogs are high maintenance and I am so glad that we have the best groomer in town just minutes away.

I have taken my cat to this salon several times. First I have to say, it's hard to find a place that will groom cats without them being sedated. They've always been very fair to me and very sweet to my cat. I have been completely satisfied with this pet salon. My only con...they rarely answer the phone and it takes them several days to call you back to schedule an appt. I will continue to use them.

First i would like to say that Opions are like Butt holes, everybodys got them and they dont all smell like roses! Now for the facts, I have known Anita all my life, including when she went into business for herself 13 or 14 years ago. She started out all by HERSELF! The foolish things being said about Anita are in fact not true. Anita is awesome with her animals (her kids as she likes to call them). Things do get busy at times in her shop but her never is in a hurry or treats her animals as if they are just another dollar. She is very loving and caring to each of their needs. And as for the comment made about her giving away someone elses dog, well seriously who in there right mind would honestly walk out of a shop not knowing if they had the right animal or not. When you have an animal that you love and specially living in your home that you see every day, you WOULD know if it wasnt yours! Come on be honest people. Anyway i dont know what Myra does at her shop nor do i care. But at Family Pet Salon i know Anita treats her Animals as if they were her own! Ask around or go see her yourself! Then you too will know good service and a GREAT GROOMER!

This groomer is very dishonest. She was trained by Myra from Myra's Pet Salon in Gardendale and does nothing but criticize Myra on these sites. I have used Myra for 18 years and I have NEVER, NEVER had a complaint with her. I would never let this girl groom my dogs when she was with Myra. So before you use her because of her stars, you might want to talk to other people. Myra has been in business a lot longer than this groomer, who is so full of herself.

i have used family pet salon for two years some times my pet looked ok but must of the time it look like it had been cut with a saw the last time i took my dog in she keep telling me my pet was not done yet so i stay there for 30 mins and someone had walk in with my dog in there arms and i ask what are you doing with my dog and told me that anita had gave them the wrong dog so i will never take my pet to them again.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Family Pet Salon! Anita and her staff are truly amazing. They are professional, patient, gentle and kind. Our dog, Ricky, looks terrific every time we pick him up. They treat him like a king! I promise, you will not be disappointed if you take your pet here. The place is always nice and clean. I would recommend Family Pet Salon to anyone who seeks the best for their pet. It is also very adorable.

We were one of the first customers when Family first opened. Tillie started going to Anita when she was 10 weeks old and she will be 10 years old in just a few days. I wouldn't go anywhere else. You have to be so careful when choosing a groomer to make sure your "kids" are well cared for. I never worry about leaving Tillie here. She is treated like royalty. You dont find many groomers who are so concerned with the well being of all animals..even to go so far as to stop and pick up an injured dog on the side of the road.

To make a long story short.... I have been grooming for years and when I did not have time any more I turned to Anita and her staff... I would not use anyone other then Family Pet Salon for my four dogs. They always call to let me know how things are going or if they feel they need to do something diff. I love Anita and her staff. You should try them, you will love them too.

Can't say enough good things about Anita and her staff. They not only groom my precious Yorkies with extreme care and style, but they do so with kindness and thoughtfullness toward me and my pets. They are prompt, courteous, and reasonably priced. Anita frequently emails me with "specials", or about her most recent rescue--her humanity is abounding!! I live south of Birmingham and drive all the way to Fultondale to let Anita groom my "babies" because I haven't found a groomer in town that even comes close, and I tried several before I found her. I am a dentist in private practice in Vestavia, and believe me, my time is short and precious, but Anita and her staff are worth the drive!!

I highly recommend Anita and her staff. They are very nice, caring, loving animal people. I have used them for several years, and will continue to do so. Easy to get an appointment, friendly on the phone, friendly in person. Anita, the owner, might be the most loving, compassionate person I've ever known in regard to animals. Saving an injured animal, helping to get animals adopted, whatever is necessary. This staff loves animals, and they love what they do. Give them a call.........841-4440.
