Compass Bank unable to give Bank statements 2003

We have banked with Compass Bank since they took it over from Texas State Bank. Since Compass took over we have been displeased. We have been requesting images of our bank records for two months now. We are repeatedly told they their jukebox type server system is down and has been down since January 2009. Compass can't find the parts to repair it. We can go to the moon and rebuild the Titanic, but we can't fix the server. My husband paid over $7,000 in checks, in 2003. We need to show these images in order to be relieved of repaying it. My husband and I stand to lose alot, due to Compass not being able to asist us. We have called the main branch in Birmingham, we have called Edinburg we have went in to our local branch, but to no avail. What are we to do? Who can help us? We can always call BBVA Compass and get a voice mail though. The ones we have gotten to speak with, have good customer service but can not produce bank statements from 2003.

Dishonest Practice - be aware

I have been a customer of Compass Bank for over 3 years, and up until now have never had a problem. However, on Jan 30 2009 I deposited a check for $9,000. The check was from my savings account in another bank. Compass bank admitted that although the check would clear and they would receive my funds today, they still put the funds on hold so I cannot access them until Dec 10th. When I complained and asked them to please hold the funds only until they cleared, they said it was against policy to do that, and it was February 10th or I could choose not to deposit the check. I had no choice. With 2 credit card bills due (one on Feb 5th, and one Feb 7th), Compass bank is going to cost me significant monies in interest charges on those credit cards. Come Feb 10th, I'll pay my bills, close my account, and take my business elsewhere.

I have been in this office to open an account, close an account, deposit coins, have something notarized, and cash in savings bonds. With all of these different transactions, I was treated very well and very quickly by very knowledgable staff. Everybody was very quick to take care of my needs in a timely manner. On top of everything, they had free, uncomplicated parking in downtown Birmingham.
