We are looking around for a new vet and somewhere FRIENDLY to board and groom our 2 small dogs. The receptionist was not only short immediately after answering - she told me the only way they would cut them is to shave them bald to the skin. I asked her if they could just leave 1/2 inch to inch of hair and she said NO - they would only shave them bare to the skin. To think this is in an upscale part of town. Dr. England may be great but she needs to search for a new receptionist because she is losing valuable business.

Vestridge Animal Clinic is one of those places where you feel at home 30 seconds after you arrive. I dont go much for lip service, in fact it turns me off, but at Vestridge the smiles and courtesy are genuine and so is the love for animals. My first visit with our new doggie was as smooth and uneventful as one could ever hope for. Puppy Sandor was only 11 weeks old and only recently recovered from being separated from his brothers and sisters and his mom. Normally shaking in his boots, Sandor was completely at ease, exploring, and wagging his rump off within seconds after arriving. That doggie has some fine instincts, I tell ya. The new dog exam, shots, fecal test, nails clipping, etc. etc. was done so fast the neither the doggie nor the owner knew what hit them. It was over before anybody had the time to get upset. Some of that had to do with smooth expertise and some had to do with the instant trust that gentle and loving handling inspired. If an American Pit Bull Terrier could smile, this one would have been grinning from ear to ear. Instead, he just showered everybody with doggie kisses. Oh, well, I guess one has to manage with what one has got. Need I say? WE were eminently pleased with our treatment and daddy was VERY pleased with the bill a true bargain for the quality of service received. The clinics specialty appears to center around small domestic pets, but I bet Dr. Anne England could handle a rhinoceros, if she had to. She certainly has the skills and manners of a sophisticated Veterinarian who loves what she does for a living. I, for one, would not take our pets anywhere else, even though we do have a Vet 10 miles closer to our house. The bottom line is this: for excellent quality, caring, and cost-effective pet care you cannot do any better than Dr. Anne Englands Vestridge Animal Clinic in Vestavia Hills. I recommend her without reservation.
