Closed, and the "new" restaurant that went there is closed as well  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

They are both closed.

Not enough food for the money, and at other times they were quite pricey. Old rest was Cock of the Walk, second was 2 dollar bills. Not great, obviously since they're closed now.

CLOSED BUT A NEW RESTAURANT IS OPEN THERE  4 Star Rating - Very good

By Anonymous Opens in New Window

A new restaurant is open there and run by the former employees. Food is better, service is better, better selection, nicely updated inside and they have a bluegrass band once a month. Worth a try. Best fried oysters in town.

Good Food  4 Star Rating - Very good

Cock of the Walk in MObile has excellent food at a resonable price. But, with all the great seafood places in town, Cock of the Walk sometimes get left out of the mix.

Great Food  5 Star Rating - World class

It is a little expensive but top of the line. The cornbread to the greens to the catfish cannot be beat. If you get the chance make them flip the cornbread while you watch!

The taste of Mobile  4 Star Rating - Very good

By Rose B. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 9,040

If you come to Mobile you have to try Cock of the Walk. It has a family fun ambiance. Dress is casual and comfprt is the name here. They bring out your drinks in tin cups like the kind you use in camping. You eat from a tin plate. Their catfish is crispy, their coleslaw slightly sweet yet crunchy. Your waiter or waitress comes to your table with cornbread in a small cast iron skillet and flip it in front of you. You have to try their collard greens as all southerners know it is great with the cornbread crumbled up it in. Fun for the entire family.
