Sexton Foods

Atkins, small town, limited businesses and job opportunities, but....what we do have is essentially home town folks serving home town people. Service with a smile, discussing current events, personal issues, etc..these are the perks of living here.Maybe there are faults and issues at Sexton foods, but I appreciate the way I am treated there. Personalized care and courtesy give me a feeling of satisfaction, one that is never found at the latrge impersonal Wal Mart stores nearby.So for my money..Sexton Food is an asset to our community and I say thank you for being here.Freda

I've only recently moved to atkins and my first impression was this: My little brother, 16, wants to find his first job. There are litterally like five places where he could work in atkins. One, the best bet (or so we though) was sexton foods. They were the only one with a "NOW HIRING" or "NEED HELP" sign. So, my little brother put in an application.

Two days later they hadn't called him. So, he goes down to the store to talk to the manager. Turns out they're only hiring cashiers. And they only hire young females to do this job. -- Let me get this straight i asked, THEY WON"T HIRE YOU BECAUSE YOU HAVE A PENIS??? WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH YOUR ABILITY TO WORK A CASH REGISTER?? Point is they have a job that needs done, and he needs a job to do, but apparantly the management at SEXton foods it a sexist prick. I would hate to be turned down for a job that I am perfectly capable of doing, just because I am a female. We fought tooth and nail over this decades and decades ago. But apparently ATKINS ARKANSAS is still behind. They're one grocery store is anyway.

PROS: Don't know honestly.
CONS: SEXIST JERK gives this little town a bad first impression

Sexton foods has the best customer service I have ever encountered at a grocery store. There are always employees on the floor making sure patrons are greeted and served properly..always enough baggers at the registers and they carry your groceries to the car.
