Stopped in at Ronnie's Guitar Shop this morning. Bought acoustic guitar strings. The gentleman that helped me was very helpful. Answered my newbie guitar questions, even offered to put my new strings on for free.
Price I paid for strings seemed to be about the same as online.
It is always nice when you are offered more than expected.

i have lived in hot springs on and off now for awhile.i am 23 and i have been to many guitar stores from texas to cali.and ronnie store has been my least fav. because he is a guy who thinks he has done it all and knows everything about guitars. so r some people right about the age thing maybe.or he thanks only his stuff is the best. but that what happens when u get old and grumpy.if he reads this lightin up dude the younger crowd have questions and thy want to know to.. get your stuff online much cheaper and more selection. but if u need strings or some picks and close to the house than ronnie is the guy.

I took an acoustic guitar in to have a nut replaced. Sounds like a simple enough job. After two months of "the run around" about having to order the nut from the factory they tell me they can't get one. I asked if they couldn't just take a generic nut and size it to fit and they said it might take a lot of work and it could get costly. It was obvious to me that they did not want to work on my guitar. I looked on the internet and ordered one and sanded it down to fit myself and it's working perfectly. Total cost including shipping under $12.00. By the way I am over 60 so it wasn't because I was a young dude that they didn't want to mess with me.

Never been appreciated over the years of spending money here. I bought a 5000.00 marshall amp from the store and it had a bad power tube. The pro tech had to service it for me. I had to pay the guy out of my own pocket. I asked for the bad tube to be replaced from store and got the run around for months. Never will i spend another penny here. You would think after spending thousands of dollars you might be appreciated.

Ronnie's has been the place to go in Hot Springs for quite some time since I was in high school way back in the stone age ( class of 1978 ) - I know that Ronnie sells Fender and Ibanez.. I've seen scads of both hanging on his wall in the live inventory.

I also stop in just about every Saturday morning any more just to check in and stock up on supplies. They have the best variety in quite a few miles and I thank them for their efforts in keeping that going all these years.

Maybe if some young punk with an attitude went in and started acting like he knew the world from every perspective he rubbed some people the wrong way.

Personally.. I'd travel a lot further than I do to go visit and check out the variety of instruments and accessories that these guys carry.. I'm just sayin'..

If you are under the age of 35, and you enjoy being treated very poorly, looked upon suspiciously, or totally neglected, then this is the place for you! You get yelled at by the owner, frowned upon by everyone else that works there, and told that all equipment or instruments that are not carried by their store is "CRAP!" Actual quote: "You don't want a Fender! Fender's crap! You want a Heritage!" Heaven forbid you even mention Gibson. The bottom line is that this is a store for people who are over the age of 35, enjoy paying too much, and enjoy being told what they want to buy.
For 20 years, everyone I know has had the same experiences with this business. As a final note, do not, under any circumstances, take an instrument or amplifier to be repaired by them. You will be sorry.

I've shopped at Ronnie's Guitar Shop on numerous occasions and bought my 7 year old's first guitar from his shop. Excellent selection of new and used guitars plus other musical instruments and accessories. The shop is well put together and service was always great.
