Childrens Center

There is a certain person working with the 2 year olds that just always seems to be in a BAAAD mood-- hardly makes eye contact with parents during drop off, voice is not "softened" while dealing with little ones, is not quick to hold or distract anyone needing TLC... just very abrupt. Tough to understand how a person like this actually chooses childcare as a "career" option... and even tougher to understand how she has done this there for years. The owner and director don't care how little ones are taken care of... as long as they have "staff" to help them make money? It finally got to be too much to try to make small talk to see if a smile could come out of this one person.
No thanks! We'd rather look elsewhere to guide our girls at their own pace... with a caring approach.
P.S. It's not Miss Jennifer. Our daughters actually gravitated toward her, and it's not the new person (just in case you are curious as to who this "cold person" is).

I have 2 children, one is 2 1/2 and one is 17 months. My daughter has been going there for 2 years and my son has been going there for 1 year. I am very protective momma. There has been things that has really bothered me here and things that bothered me that I let slide by. One of the worst things was with my daughter is when she was about 18 months she came home and was rubbed raw on the insides of both her legs. I never got a explanation for this. Two days ago I was in my sons classroom with my husband and and he witnessed a teacher tossing a kid in the classroom, and said GET IN THERE. We let the supervisors know what we saw and it was blown off like they did not believe us. My husband is a cop and saw it with his own 2 eyes. I saw the kid getting off the floor and I heard what she said. I was told the parents were contacted of the child but they thought it was no biggie. I do not buy that! I am sure they were not told the whole story. There are several girls that have been there for a long time and are great, BUT your kids are not always going to be with that same teacher. The afternoon staff changes like I change my kids diapers. I would defiantly do your homework before you put your kids in this daycare.

I worked for this facility and there is a huge reason there is a staff turnover.

I for one called in sick one day - with a doctors note saying that he did not want me around children before all the tests for mono came back....

and the director told me I had to come in anyways or be fired because she was "short handed".

I was not the first staff member this happened to and when you care about a child and their health you do not play around with exposing them to harmful diseases.

This staff is friendly and caring; the facility is always clean. My daughter started was in their care from when she was 13 months old until she started kindergarten. We now have an infant son there. Much of the same staff is still there from when my daughter started nearly 6 years ago! We are extremely pleased with the Center and it's teachers and staff.

I was new to the area and struggled with where to send my daughter. She was only 3 months when we began daycare. The Children's Center was close to home and clean. The staff seemed to be nice and they doted over my daughter from day one. My issues lie in that the staff didn't follow written instruction for her feedings, didn't keep her clean and there were often too many children in the infant room with her. Many times more than the legal limit. I don't want my child having to be neglected because of too many kids per teacher. The staff is kind and they do keep me informed, but my overall feeling is uneasy.

I will preface this review by saying that I am very particular about my daughter and where I will leave her. There is large amounts of staff turnover here, and the classroom teachers begin bumping younger students to other classes as soon as they wake up from naps. I was unsure each day when I went to pick her up which classroom I would locate her in.
The classrooms are clean, and the children are well supervised. My daughter did learn quite a few new ideas, songs, etc. She was very familiar with all the employees and became attached to quite a few of them. If you are ok with constant change, and are not looking for a structured preschool program this is a great place to go. Otherwise, I would look elsewhere.

THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY AND I FEEL COMFORTABLE LEAVING MY CHILD FOR THE DAY. THE FACILITY IS ALWAYS CLEAN. THE HAVE PLANNED ACTIVITIES FOR THE KIDS DAILY TO LEARN AND HAVE FUN.
