I took in 8 wheel and tire combos to have the tires swapped out. I wanted one set to be balanced and new valve stems. I wanted the other set of tires mounted and nothing else.

I was charged for 8 dismounts and mounts ($7.50 ea), 4 valve stems ($2.00 ea), and 4 wheels balanced ($10.00 ea). I had them balance on the inside only so they used stick-on weights.

If you look at the bill I payed $7.50 to mount 4 tires and then $10.00 to balance them. THIS IS $17.50 EACH. I called and questioned the price and was told the stick-ons cost more. I then asked what the charge would be with the hammer-on weights and was told $7.50 each.

I now it is my bad for not asking prices before the work was done but this is way too much to pay to have stick-ons weights. I just had stick-on weights installed on another set on wheels in Conway 3 weeks ago and paid $10.00 each.

I will never do business with this company again and I'm going to the Base Legal (LRAFB) to see if they can notify other Airman in advance of Vaughan's stick-on weight costs.

We first come into contact with Vaughan's when I hit a curb and bent the wheel on my car. We couldn't get the tire off the car, and they sent a service man down to change our tire for us. The price on that was MUCH less than having it towed would have been. They then worked with us to find a good price on a used wheel replacement and we purchased two new tires. Very affordable and great to work with! We will definitely be using them for our future tire purchasing!
