I was quite happy with my poodle's haircut...and believe me, we've had some horrible ones in the past! Stinky? No...there was hair from where they'd been grooming but the smell was ok. And your friend's dog got mange? Do you even know how that's transmitted? Don't write a review unless you have facts to back it up! I, for one, was very pleased and will definitely be back.

I would never take my pets there. There's a horrible smell that comes out of the vent on the side of the spa building by that pink apartment building. Just walk up that little path and whew! Do they never clean in there? Smells like the animals marinate in their own waste all day! Plus, a friend's dog caught the mange there...

I have been taking my dog to Sirius Spa since she opened the doors, 10 + years. ago. The last couple of times i have been, the owner has been very rude to me. After today, I will NOT go back. Apparently, she hates it if you walk in a few minutes before 8:00 am before she opens. She leaves the door unlocked so I assume if the door was unlocked it was ok to go in. She didn't speak to me the first time this happened, just grabbed my dog and went on about mopping the floor. Today, she yelled at me and said, "we don't open until 8!". She looked at me and took my dog and ignored me and left me standing there. This is unacceptable and I refuse to be treated this way since I have been such a loyal customer all these years. My advice to her would be to lock your door if you don't want people to come in.

I nervously took my dog, Katy, into Sirius today...
After seeing a bad review for the place I was apprehensive, but the review seemed a little obnoxious, so after much hesitating I chose to disregard the bad review & try them anyway. (Much of the reason also being that all of the other places in Hillcrest area had at least 1bad review also.) Anyway, SO GLAD I DID!! They were all very personable. My dog is spoiled, very high strung, & has long hair that had gotten matted. They had their hands FULL. 3 hours after I dropped her off, I got a call saying she was ready?! When I picked my Katy up she looked fantastic, & she was even sporting the cutest Halloween bandana around her neck! ;) I was totally impressed! The price was very reasonable, she seemed happy, I was super happy... Great experience! I highly recommend these guys, & I can be hard to please sometimes...lol. We will definitely be loyal clients!

We have not had a problem. The negative review because of the training collar is either fake or just stupid. Sirius Spa must pick up the phone to take appointments so to say won't return phone calls when leave message seems fake. Do you call at midnight? Why not just go by to talk about the collar? Wrote a letter too? Get a life.

Sirius Spa is run more informally than some places, but I say that as a perk: very friendly and upbeat staff. I've been taking Gus, my four-year-old cocker spaniel, there for grooming, daycare, and extended boarding for over a year now. The Army has me stationed 2,000 miles away from all my family, so I know that I can trust them with my dog when I'm sent away. I was out of state for seven months and my original sitter fell through the day before I shipped and Sirius Spa immedately went from being my groomer to my babysitter(s) at the final moment. Not only did they take him in without prior notice, they gave an affordable monthly rate and took wonderful care of him. He came back happy and healthy with no problems. Also, the Groomer there is a doll and does excellent Cocker cut every single time. She laughs and says that she and Gus battle over who gets her grooming chair... as for Gus, as much as he hates water, he still gets excited to get in the car to "Go take a bath"!

They just moved to our neighborhood and we love them! The facility is open so you can see all the dogs playing. Our lab came home happy and tired!

My neighbor took her dog there and said she saw an employee being too rough with a dog. Also she said one of her friend's dogs lost an eye while there and the spa would not pay for the vet bills. I didnt see any of this personally, but I dont plan on risking it.

As a law intern I worked long hours and traveled so I trusted Sirius Spa to be responsible for my Golden Retriever, Berkley. Sadly, I discovered that they were unprofessional, irresponsible, negligent and cowardly. Against the Spa??s posted policy, they left the training collar on my dog and casually handed it to me in several pieces stating that Berkley had chewed it off of himself. Personally I have never seen anything other than an owl that is capable of that trick. I tried to call and discuss the incident with the manager and/or owner for several weeks only to have message after message ignored. After two weeks of leaving messages I was only able to reach the answering machine when I called. I wrote a letter to the Spa requesting that we talk about the incident like adults and professional people and this too was ignored. Admittedly, I have been stunned by this childish response to a client??s concerns, especially since I was calm and willing to come to a fair and reasonable resolution. It is obvious to me that the Spa was negligent in one of the following ways: Either: (1) They did not remove the collar according to Sirius Spa??s posted policy, (2) Berkley was unobserved for an extended period of time allowing him to chew a collar off of his own neck, (3) Berkley was unobserved for an extended period of time allowing another dog time to chew the collar off of Berkley??s neck, (4) The collar was removed and placed within reach of another dog that was unobserved for an extended period of time allowing it to chew the training collar into several pieces. Either way one chooses to explain this incident negligence is clearly evident. Sadly, this negligence is compounded by the Spa refusing to accept responsibility. I hope that as responsible and caring pet owners you will continue to seek care for your pets elsewhere.

Located near Hillcrest off of Markham Street, Sirius Spa boasts a medium-sized facility primarily geared for doggie daycare and grooming, but also offers boarding. The facility does not have a fenced outdoor area and its a little noisy and over-crowded at times . However, the dogs are certainly well kept and loved and the rates are very reasonable for daycare and grooming services. They also open at 6:00 AM, which is a plus for those who need to drive the kids to school or get to work early.
