The food was delicious, the view beautiful, and the service was like clockwork...until the roach showed up at our table. When we told the waiter, he stepped on the roach and left it there on the floor. Unfortunately, the little bugger wasn't dead, and he soon got up and scurried under our table. A manager asked how everything was going, and we told him about the roach under our table. He simply replied, "I don't know what to say..." No discount off our ticket. They had offered to move us to a different table, but we had finished dessert and thought we could just pay and leave. But they made us wait 10+ minutes before taking our card to charge the bill.
A disappointing end to a tasty meal, I left the restaurant grossed out.

Wonderful view, excellent food, and great service. My husband and I recently celebrated our anniversary there - we had a wonderful evening. I ordered a salmon dish that was very good, my husband had a rib-eye that was also very good. I was impressed with the wine recommendations...I enjoy a glass of wine with dinner, but I'm not very good at determining which wines go well with my meal. The waiter and other staff members were readily available to recommend wines that would complement my entree, as well as my dessert. They recommended wines that were excellent, but not too expensive.

My husband has taken me to the Pointe twice now to celebrate special occasions and each time was a wonderful, memorable experience. The food is outstanding and the service is excellent but the thing we go for is the view! I must also say that for a very fancy restaurant it doesn't feel at all stuffy or snobby- it is refined yet comfortable.

If you are looking for a place that says "your special" this is it. The service is outstanding and they make you feel special too. The view is breathtaking. And to top it off the food is excellent.

As if they need great food with a view like this......I have thoroughly enjoyed my multiple experiences at this restaurant. It is the most romantic venue in town. The food is great, the atmosphere, fancy and fabulous, and the folks there treat you like royalty!

One of the best, and certainly the most overlooked restaurant in the Valley. Their new chef, Anthony De Mauro, is nothing short of amazing! It is quite a unique pleasure to find a top shelf (cuisine & ambiance) dining spot that has a warm, intelligent and outstanding staff. While it is an elegant rooftop restaurant with the most incredibly beautiful view in town, it is also "non-stuffy". You can impress a date, a boss, or your spouse without feeling that you've just spent your mortgage payment! The food is inventive, delicious and gorgeously presented...this place is a long-time hidden treasure. Who cares about the next "trendy spot" (where the food is usually overrated and overpriced) when you can enjoy a fabulous meal, a fantastic view, and not break the bank?

I proposed to my fiance here, and can say if you are looking to impress, choose this restaurant. I coordinated with the catering manager Traci and the receptionist Rachael, and both did a great job making the night unforgettable.
We had a table right next to the floor-to-ceiling windows providing spectacular views of the valley of the sun. If you don't get a window seat, don't worry--the tiered dining room affords great views from every table.
The venison carpaccio was spectacularly fresh and smokey, but don't even think about eating here without trying the pan-seared diver scallops. Served atop a split pea gazpacho, they were simply amazing.
For entrees, the Rib Eye is a real man's dish--no tiny servings here. I got a 12+ oz Rib Eye, huge Abalone mushrooms, and potatoes dauphanoise (interesting texture of starchy potatoes, creamy sauce, and a crispy top). My fiance chose the duck atop a spinach and polenta torte. I have never liked duck due to its greasy texture, but I actually traded a few bites of my beef for more of this dish. Choose medium rare and you will be delighted.
Don't expect to find many full bottle wine selections for less than $200, but we chose cocktails with appetizers and a half-bottle of Syrah with dinner. The sommelier even provided an interesting story about the wine we chose as he opened it for breathing. Oh, and for manly men don't worry--they didn't look down on me for asking for a beer or a humble Jack and Coke with the other courses.
Now to the special treatment--the pastry chef created a light and airy dessert with a unique plating. She took a thin cake bottom with a thick consistency (almost like cookie dough), topped it with 2 kinds of chocolate and some sort of almond cream, and then plated it on a dish with the words "will you marry me" written in chocolate on it. My fiance was speechless. For once.
Bottom line-great food with hearty portions, secluded romantic atmosphere, and a dedicated staff. Give this place a try

Pros: Amazing view, top notch service, fancy entrees designed to appeal to anyone

Cons: It's quite a walk to the restaurant from the hotel--take a car or bring a sherpa

The view here is spectacular, but this has got to be one of the most overrated places we have ever eaten at in terms of the actual food. I am a vegetarian and my husband is a meat eater. When we arrived, there was one vegetarian meal on the menu and we were told that unlike what citysearch states regarding the kitchen encourages asking for something different, we were told they don't do that there. And the place was not even busy the night we were there. Maybe 2 or 3 tables on the inside and eating outside there were 2 or 3 tables with people at them as well. So there wasn't even the issue of being a super busy night. Both my vegetarian meal and my husband's were incredibly salty. We couldn't even taste the actual food. All we tasted was salt. If you want to go there for a spectacular view, go and order drinks. But I wouldn't eat there again. Very disappointing.

I've been here twice so far, and it is hands-down my favorite restaurant in Arizona! The service is amazing, and the food is just incredible. The whole dining experience is well worth the cost. On both visits, Chef Flowers created a special vegetarian dish for me that was out of this world, and he personally came to the table to greet us and ask about our food preferences. He is a magician in the kitchen, and my hypersensitive tastebuds truly appreciate his culinary talent.

Special place for a special occasion! The staff is so attentive, every need was met before having to utter a word. Prepare for a big bill at the end but it was worth every dime (or hundred in this case!) The view is spectacular! Ask for a window seat when you make a reservation or patio if its warm.

The view was incredible! The food and the service were both fantastic! I would highly recommend it, but remember, it's fine dining so expect a hefty price tag.

It was a drive (from the east valley) but worth it. The decor and the view were awesome. The food was outstanding. What made oue evening even better was the service, it was the best. We took our 4 1/2 yr old with us and the staff was so attentive to not only our needs, but to our daughter, which made it a very enjoyable evening for us. It was a bit pricy ($290), but worth it....will we come again...YES.
