Mane Attraction Salon

I've seen a couple different people there and every time I have had to wait. The style was alright but no one ever showed me how to do it again at home. With service and tip I paid over $200 every time and it wasn't even that good!

First, I want to tell you that I truly enjoyed my visit at Mane Attraction yesterday and you have a very sharp, courteous staff. The little things like a tour of the salon with the beverage area make a big difference. V was great and I love my hair cut and color!
I will be back!

This is a very well-run salon, conveniently located. The owners clearly know what they are doing in terms of creating a personable aura; new customers are given a tour and introduced to the owners, the reception area is comfortably arranged, you are given a little back rub when your hair is shampooed, beverages are on hand and offered frequently. Throughout the salon are interesting displays of the salon's press coverage throughout the years, which has been extensive.

The owner who cut my hair was friendly and interesting. Most regretably, my haircut is uneven, not at all what I requested, and I am going to have to find a place to get it corrected in the immediate future. The color was O.K. but overall for $200 (close to $300 once I purchased a product and added tips) I was hoping for a significantly better experience.

Addendum: Just after I finished writing the above review, my 16 year old son came into the room, looked at me and said in a kind tone of voice: "Mom, I hate to tell you this, but that haircut makes you look a lot older." This is a teenager who doesn't even notice his own hair, let alone other people's. I had not discussed this haircut with anyone in my family at all, so it must be worse than I had originally thought. Bummer.

How Sara ruined my life ? NOT ;) Several months ago, my life was simple - get up, shower, shampoo and air dry, go to work. Not any more. Since Sara worked her magic on me, now I have to get up, do my hair, and go to work. Why? Because I have gotten such compliments on my hair when I do this, I have to live up to the standard. I have even started using product, and I get even more compliments. Now I am at least 10 minutes late for all my appointments because I have to do my hair, ha ha! It looks incredibly professional - so professional that people have to stop me daily to ask what I have done with my hair. This has gotten in the way of my sleep time and my work time. It is not in my best interests to look this good. Sara, you have made me into a professional looking person, and I will never forgive you (until my next appointment). Thank you, I appreciate you and the rest of the team so much!

My stylist in Michigan recommended me to the salon when I relocated to the Phoenix area. I was a little nervous at first since my stylist there worked for Vidal Sassoon and in Europe for several years. But she insured me that Kendall and Beate had the same international experience and great Sassoon training. I was very impressed by the excellent service I received and emailed my old stylist immediately to let her know what a great experience I had. Thanks for making me look beautiful!!!

I have been a Mane Attraction client for more than 10 years and in that timeframe I have not gone anywhere else. Even when I moved out to Surprise and it took me about an hour to get to the salon, I never even THOUGHT about going elsewhere.

Each stylist is trained to analyze your facial structure, your lifestyle and your personal preferences in order to create a style that not only looks great on you but is easy for you to re-create with their helpful tips and instruction.

With different levels, you can find a skilled stylist you can afford without sacrificing quality. Their friendly and they truly enjoy their work. The reception staff is super friendly, greeting you promptly and always offering refreshments, such as iced tea, coffee or water. During the holiday seasons, they offer Gluhwein, a mulled spiced wine.

Each service is preceded by a wash. And, oh, what a wash. They gently knead your scalp, working the shampoo and conditioner, which feels really good. They also use massagers to rub your shoulders, your neck and your back. I really look forward to the hair washes. :)

Included in the very reasonable is the wash, the cut and they also blow-dry and style before you leave. They want to make sure you know how to style your own hair at home. You walk out looking and feeling glamorous and beautiful.

The stylists are required to complete on-going training and attend international training seminars and workshops. They video-tape and photograph everything, creating a DVD played in the lobby and photo albums you get to peruse while you wait.

On top of their services, they also offer an exclusive line of Mane Attraction and Bumble and Bumble hair products. I never leave without purchasing the Bumble and Bumble hair tonic, a wonderful leave-in conditioning treatment.

All-in-all, Mane Attraction is THE salon to go to. They've been featured in style magazines, trade magazines and I even read that a famous band member a while ago.

Mane Attraction is hands down, the best salon I have been to, which includes every one that I patronized in NYC. My next appointment is with Heather in 4 weeks, I can't wait!

I visited Stefanie at Mane Attraction for the first time last week. Not only did the whole staff make me feel incredibly comfortable and welcome, but so did Stefanie! She was so helpful! I was at the end of my rope with my dull, lifeless, dry AZ hair and she transformed me into a supermodel! I can?t thank her enough for how wonderful she made me feel. I will definitely tell all my friends about her!!! I highly recommend her! Thank you Stefanie! I will never go to anyone else ever again!

I was able to make an appointment at this salon the same day; which I really apreciate because in my job I never know when I am going to have enough time to get a hair cut. The front desk was really nice, I was given a tour of the salon because it was my first time; which I thought was a really nice touch. The salon offered coffee and tea and was very inviting. I would go back just because of the reasons listed above. However, I would not go back to the same stylist. Looking at my hair when I first sat down I was told that my hair was really dry (I explained I was outside in 105 degree weather for a large part of the day) in addition in general I just felt this stylist was a little unprofessional. At the end of the haircut I was offered a business card from the sylist where they then told me that I should call at a different number than the salon because they were going to be leaving the salon. In addition I was told "to keep it on the down-low." I really didn't even know how to respond and felt truly awkward. Other than that, however, I did like my haircut, but I could have gone without some of the comments about my hair and the opinions about how long I should have my hair. I did like the salon enough to give another sylist a chance.

I?ve been going to Stefanie at Mane Attraction for several years and I can honestly say that she is the best stylist I ever had. She is professional, kind and always a pleasure to be around. I constantly change my hair and Stefanie has always accommodated to my wants but still puts her own point of view in everything she does. She has traveled around the world learning about new and unique techniques which is very evident in her work. Whether you are looking for a complete makeover or just a simple clean up, Stefanie is your girl. She listens to you which has become so uncommon with hair stylist nowadays. I would honestly recommend her to anyone looking for a gifted hair stylist with a unique talent for customer service and most importantly creating a beautiful look for her clients!!

My wife was visiting our son in Phoenix a couple of weeks ago. They went to Mane Attraction and were more than impressed with the atmosphere and service provided. She mentioned the salon is beautiful on the inside and out , and it's located in an incredible little mall. Upon their arrival, they immediately got a tour of the salon, it made them feel like a part of the Mane Attraction family. Our hats are off to you and your salon for providing such exceptional customer service. Visiting your salon was certainly a great experience for my wife and son. I am anxious to stop by this summer when I am in town for business.

Mane Attraction is all about customer service. I have never gone to get my hair done and been so pleased every single time! Stefanie is AMAZING! She is the best.
I met Stefanie through my boyfriend who has been going to her for over 7 years. He couldn?t say enough good things about her and how she can do anything, so I decided to check her out. I now have been going to Stefanie for over 5 years and love everything she has ever done to my hair. I rarely come in with a picture or tell her what to do. I always let her do whatever she thinks would look good on me. I give her total freedom on my cut and color. I never want just a trim or something that everyone else has and she always gives me an up to date cut and color. I love that she is so creative. I get compliments on my hair constantly.
Every time I come in, I always get greeted by name from the receptionists. I love that. Where else would you go and get that kind of service? Everyone is so nice and always goes out of their way to say hi to me, even the owner! The salon is always so clean.
The Bumble and Bumble products that they use are the best. They work and smell so good. And Stefanie always makes sure to tell me what products to use and how to use them so I can get the same hairstyle at home.
Everyone in the salon makes getting my hair done so fun and such a great experience. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone!

Let me start by saying that I?ve been to other top salons in the Valley in my search for a place that really worked for me. What does that mean and how does that translate into salon-speak? Well, before I allow anyone to touch my hair, I have to feel welcome. I have no desire to go back to some of the salons I?ve been to in the ?East Valley? where the first thing I had to experience is a receptionist giving me the once over and forcing a half smile asking if I can be helped as if I?d just put a major dent in her day by walking in. Mane Attraction has a reputation that they can bank on. It doesn?t matter who walks in the door, you?re immediately greeted by a genuine smile and by the second visit you?re a regular. Every single person that works there enjoys what they do, and it shows. I?ve been going to MA for a few years now. I, of course, have my favorite stylist. We connected immediately and I trust her implicitly. However, there have been times when others have done my hair and I didn?t even blink with concern. I happen to know the extensive training that these men and women go through beyond their initial cosmetology studies. This really stood out as ?fantastic? in my mind. They?ve raised the bar and the clientele knows it. Ok, now for the fun stuff. Beyond the incredible service, talent, and skill these people offer, it?s a great looking place in a great part of town. It?s always buzzing; there?s tea or coffee or water with lemon in your hand before you know it. Its clean lines are modern yet warm feeling. I think the owners of MA have really gone beyond a business formula by creating chemistry in an industry that?s generally transient. There is pride in ownership on every face there. If you?re looking to make a change, you?ll find your place on 32nd & Camelback at Mane Attraction.

What is different about Mane Attraction? Everything! Kendall and Beate thank you for the great care you give to every detail in your salon, from the well trained staff to the refreshments! What happens at Mane Attraction does not stay at Mane Attraction. Each client takes it with them! And uses it for life.

Joanne is a great stylist. I just got home from getting a cut and once again it is exactly what I wanted. Every time I get a cut from her I always get tons of compliments. She always helps me pick out the right kind of cut for my face and style and is even able to figure out what I want even when I dont! She is awesome, and all the other employees at the salon. I have been going to Mane Attraction for over 6 years now. Beate is a true gem! She always makes my hair look fantastic! I always look forward to my time in Beate and Kendall's salon. The staff is always friendly, the interns do a wonderful job washing my hair - I'm surprised I haven't fallen asleep during my scalp massages! :0 In addition to the wonderful service and perfect haircuts that I have received, I have been very fortunate to also be apart of Kendall and Beate's charitable side as well. Over the last five years the staff at Mane Attraction has given up the first Sunday in March to donate all their time and services to an organization that I am proud to be apart of - RESCUE. RESCUE is a not for profit, grass roots organization that saves the orphaned dogs and cats from the local shelters euthanasia lists. Mane Attraction donates ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of the proceeds to RESCUE! That's right - 100%!!! They have donated over fifty thousand dollars to RESCUE and continue to host this event each year!

Please support the Mane Attraction! They provide outstanding service and are very kind hearted, generous people! The are the BEST!!!!

Mane Attraction is the one and only place that I trust with my hair. After several hair disasters at other supposed "upscale" salons, Mane Attraction is a cut above the rest! Beate is my stylist, and also owner of the salon, along with her husband Kendall. She is a true hair artist and has a passion for what she does.

I have been a client of MA for about 5 years now, and never before have I received so many compliments on my hair! I have literally been stopped in the street, in restaurants, etc. by strangers asking me who does my hair. It happens so often that I have started to carry MA business cards. :)

Mane Attraction is the place to go if you are very particular about your hair, and require only the best. You will not be disappointed!

I usually don?t take the time to write reviews, but my experience at Mane Attraction was so outstanding that I had to. I felt completely comfortable as soon as I walked thru the door. The front desk staff was welcoming and friendly. They showed me around the salon and even introduced me to the owners; it completely took away the fear of being in a new place. My stylist was extremely knowledgeable and explained why the new color and shape would work better with my skin tones and features. She explained what products to use and how to take care of my hair at home. I loved my hair when I walked out of the salon, but the best thing is, that know, 3 weeks later my hair still looks fabulous and I get a ton of compliments! I give it 5 stars and two thumbs up!

I love Mane Attraction. I moved here from Chicago not too long ago and it is always so hard to find a place that I can trust. My first visit was fabulous and I have not gone anywhere else since. The staff is professional and friendly and my experiences are the best I have ever had. My stylist, Sara, is always up to date with the new hair trends and she is my new gal pal.

I have been going to MA for about three years and my hair has never looked better. They customize my cut and color to my features and my lifestyle. I always let my stylist know what I have coming up and they give me awesome hair for every occasion. I never get bored because they help me keep my look fresh. I also love their level of customer service. They give you a mini back massage with the shampoo and you can order lunch or dinner from the local eateries around the salon.

I recently moved to the Phoenix area and tried a few different salons, but none of them were really giving me an end product that I was thrilled about. One of my friends told me to try Mane Attraction, so I went and asked for a complete makeover. I let them do whatever they wanted, which ended up being a color and cut that I never would have chosen myself, but it was something they were really confident about and because of that, made me comfortable. And I absolutely love it my new cut and color! They definitely made me a longtime customer and I'd never trust my hair with any other salon.

I read about Mane Attraction on My Sweet Connection and thought I would give them a try, plus they are right by my work! My stylist, V, is absolutely amazing! Her personality is incredible, her skills are amazing and the best thing about her is that she is honest! I told her that I wanted to go back to blonde, so she was honest with me telling me that I should gradually go blonde in order to save the integrity of my hair. My color looks so good! I showed her a picture of a haircut that I liked and that is exactly what I got too! She showed me different ways of styling it, how to take care of it, and recommended products for me to use; however, she did not use any sales tactics; She simply showed me what she used on my hair. I was so excited about her service that I may 2 more appointments right away and also scheduled my mother when she comes to visit. V, you are the greatest!!!!!

Mane Attraction is a very unusual salon, sometimes it's hard to find friendly service in an upscale salon. The attitude towards their customers is refreshing. I loved how everything was explained to me, so I could style it at home. Great job!

if you care what your hair looks like......please take this small piece of advice...DO NOT LET THEM TOUCH YOUR HAIR!!!!
I went for a "make-over".....you won't believe the things they did to make me look worse for the picture than when I first came in...
And my hair...? Turned out 50 times more horrible than if I went to a beauty school!!!!!
If anyone has to make you look worse....to make their work look better......well, lesson learned here.

i don't know what all the fuss is about. i got my haircut from the senior stylist and it looked nothing like i wanted it to. the girls in the front were snobby. i don't mind paying $80 for a haircut if it's going to look good, but i walked out of that salon with what looked like a $10 haircut. maybe next time, if i decide to go there again, i'll have my hair cut by one of the owners.

Sarah is the best!! Great listener! The consultation was wonderful, her explanations of the styling techniques and the products she used were very helpful and easy to follow. It was a nice atmosphere, clean and friendly. It was more expensive than what I am used to but I don't every remember walking out of a salon with my hair feeling and looking this good. Sarah even called to follow up with me, making sure everything was ok with my cut and checking to see if I had set up my next appointment. This is excellence in customer service

Ive seen Mane Attraction on Ch 3 and checked them out on mysweetconnection and they seemed really talented. But, being a skeptic I didnt think theyd live up to the hype. What can I say? They convinced me!

Not only are the stylist talented they are super friendly and caring. They actually wrote down what to use on my hair and showed me how to style it at home. And the best thing about it was that the next day my cut looked just as good! And a few days later the owner called me to ask how my visit was and how I was doing with my new style. This skeptic is convinced, they really are talented but more importantly caring.

I'd had bad experiences at several high-end salons, so I was skeptical. No more! Scheduling was quick and easy, and the front-desk staff is cordial and efficient (showing me around, introducing me to the owners, offering me my choice of beverages while I waited). And my stylist Joanne is superb. She took the time to ask about my lifestyle and styling skills, really listened to what I wanted, and did a great job of evening out a horrible haircut. The prices ARE high, depending on your stylist's skill level; on the other hand, the atmosphere and quality of cuts are great, and I wasn't pressured to buy product.

My experience at Mane Attraction was superior. I was given a tour and introduced to both owners who welcomed me with enthusiasm. Joshua cut and highlighted my hair after a 10 to 15 minute discussion on options and recommendations. He explained the techniques he was using as he was doing the cut. The colors suggested for my coloring were perfect. He wrote a "prescription" for my hair and recommended products accordingly without being pushy in any way. I'm really picky about my hair and this is the first review I've ever written. I will definitely return even though it is a 100 mile drive.

These are the rudest people I have incountered in my salon visiting days. I called ahead for an appointment,arrived at the salon 5 minutes before my appointment time, checked in and waited and waited and waited...without ANYONE saying ..."your stylist is running late" nor did anyone say anything else to me...After 15 minutes I walked out. These are the RUDEST people in the industry I steer everyone away for their salon. Why have an appointment system if you are not going to honor it? DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON....unless you like abuse.

This salon did not live up to the high recommendations others gave it. Came to this place after disappointing haircuts at 5 other high end salons. For my 1st appt I brought a picture of the hairstyle I wanted and the stylist butchered my hair so badly in spite of the picture. Overall what I gathered from this place is that they feel they are the experts and the clients don't know what they want so the stylists just cut the hair any way they see fit. Then to add insult to injury the stylist tried to sell me at least five products when I was checking out and when I declined he practically threw a fit and walked away from me. Never went back; Don't waste your time/money going there if you really want a good haircut or good service from your stylist.

I asked for an experienced colorist and ended up leaving with grey hair. I walked in with light brown hair and blonde highlights and wanted to go blonder. It was terrible!! When I went back to get it fixed they only put toner on my hair and didn't add any more color so I left with darker hair than I came in with. I would not recommend this place to an enemy!! I spent well over $100 and then had to pay someone else $85 to fix it.

Last time there I asked for an updo. After waiting 45 minutes for my stylist (scheduled appointment), my updo was crooked. The stylist was running so far behind, he had no time to fix it properly. To top it off I was charged full price. Never went back
