1 Stars: HTI Las Vegas campus (by Amanda W.)

I too hate this school. I have been lied to, talked down to, and have had nothing but bad experiences since starting. Student services is a joke, financial aid is worse, and when I went to the campus president to complain, I got the run around, and have found out recently that I was flat lied to! I have called the corporate office to leave a message with a woman by the name of M. Gray, she will not return my phone calls! I have emailed her, I could list all the problems I have had but this post would end up being five pages long! I have no problem speaking my mind, and I am NOT happy with this school, or corporation one bit!! Please, lets all unify and do something about their ridiculous practices!!! I am willing to fight for what we all deserve, reimbursment for our wasted time! Email me if you are interested NevAmaDesDam98@yahoo.com

1 Stars: I wished I would have seen this before I made a huge mistake!!!!! (by Veronica G.)

It is true. The reps make the school seem like it is one of the best choices to make due to all the assistance that they supposedbly provide for you. From the simplest thing as saying the bus lines run real close to the apts (having to wait 10 min to cross an 8 lane highway to catch it) to helping us find a job when we are finished with the program (they provide you with a list of places that are hiring in your field....paying them extra thousands for something you can do on careerbuilder). Our school in Orlando was continously replacing staff, then when we had no substitutes they said we could sit in class for 3 hours doing nothing or just go home after some people had droven an hour or more to get there. Sometimes we didn get our books till halfway through the course. In 2 years I saw 3 campus presidents come and go. And when you need assistance, nobody is able to help you. Now with them loosing their accredidation, they no longer give diplomas. They wont allow me to finish my internship unless i settle for a diploma. I could have stayed home for that!!!! Why would I wanna pay $23,000 for a stupid diploma. So basically i wasted 2 years of my life and put myself in debt for nothing. And many people are in the same situation. I want to start a class action lawsuit against them but people are scared to speak up. So if anybody wants to participate, let me know preciouslibra85@aol.com

1 Stars: TERRIBLE SCHOOL (by NEVER AGAIN N.)

Well first off let me say some of the teachers were cool, i guess they had to be,because every quarter we did teacher reviews and some students didnt like the teaching, so they gave bad reviews. I myself hated the fact that the classes were teached in random order, none of the classes had good computers, my computer at home was better then what the school had! also one time a teacher there tried to teach us video and game design with a dam marker and a white board!! can you freakin believe that, i was like how the hell we gonna learn the graphics by you teaching us on a dam board, when we need to be at computers!!! needless to say the teacher got fired. also one time another teacher brought up the white board and a marker and was trying to teach up story boards and breaking down movies, when all of a sudden a student comes in and askes to use the marker, because they no longer had markers to teach a graphic design class next door! can you freakin believe that a dam school had to share 1 f&cken marker!! so at my lunch break i went down to the local 99cent store and bought with MY own money, a set up of markers, then i went to the director of the school and gave him my 2 cents of the school, i was not mad at him, just mad at the fact that we had to be taught this way! i would never ever ever ever tell anyone to join this school. now they named the school to apollo or something like that BEWARE PEOPLE, BE VARY WARY OF THESE LOOSERS!!!!

5 Stars: Good choice for last resorters (by A R.)

I, like most minority groups, had very little choice when it came to school. I didn't appreciate the demeaning nature of college and the "rat race" of 4-7 years of pointless drabble...so I opted for something technical. Being Native American and of little means I chose HTI to attend. With assistace from my tribe, I attended HTI with NO knowledge of I.T. But when I arrived and attended, I gained so much from the knowledgable faculty. I studied hard and thumbed though every article/footnote in my books, I sat at the computer lab until closing and graduated in the top half of my class! Even though I had no computer, no laptop, no tools, no idea, and no tutilage. The hands on, direct approach I acheved greatness. I now have been empoyed for 5 years with our tribe and have recently aquired a business license to privately support my tribe though my own I.T. company! Take my word, these guys know what they are doing without all the BS. Stick with it, STUDY, and don't listen to these whiners...you are there to school not to live in a condo and enjoy picnics and field days. It's a tech school, no BS. I loved it. Success lies in how you take the knowledge and apply it to your world.

1 Stars: WATCH OUT... (by TyLynn S.)

I was drawn to this school due to the "free refresher courses for life" and the "98% placement rate". After I graduated, they terminated the computer programming course and reniged on the refresher course guarantee. Nobody that I graduated with has a job in their field (I had friends in all courses: internet programming, networking, CAD, and Computer Electronics.) Then I took out a loan for the entire course, and in the middle of the year the student loan department had me go in and sign a few documents. I was young, and didn't know any better so I did what I was told. Now (4 years later) I am paying WAY more for the school than was initially agreed upon, AND I am not making the kind of money they promised was available. Their "placement assistence" consisted of signing my email address up to employment websites (like monster.com) and never returning my phone calls. I would NEVER reccomend this school to ANYBODY. I would never want anyone else to end up with a massive amount of student loan debt and working 2 jobs (neither one using the degree) just to make ends meet. This school is FULL of empty promises and absolutely NO HELP once the money is in their pocket.

3 Stars: I took the medical assisting class there and...... (by renee d.)

When i took the medical class there, it was kind-a kool. The teachers were very nice and they were into the course. The only thing that i did not like was that when i started they gave me one graduation date then in the middle of the course they added 2 more classes to the roster. This pushed my graduation back by 2 months, that kind of sucked but other then that the school was awsome.

PROS:
CONS: We had a new teacher every other month

3 Stars: Good choice for technical schools (by Brandee P.)

This is a good choice for technical school. There is tons of programs to choose from and they have a great name for themselves. The cost is a bit high , so if you had time and could take a little more time and take it at a community college I would.
