Dr. Wells is not only extremely nice and caring to my animals but really goes all out to help you understand the diagnosis and what can be done. I have taken all my pets there over the years from regular check ups to illnesses to euthanasia. This last illness for my cat was a bladder infection and Dr Wells showed me her microscope slide from her urine sample (that he ran in and took from the sink in the exam room when she couldn't hold it) as well as xrays and stones from other animals with the same condition to help me visually understand what could develop if left untreated. I originally chose him b/c he graduated from Michigan State University, I am from Michigan too! But he is a great vet no matter where he is from.

My new puppy had a pretty normal skin issue and I went to 4 vets in Gilbert where I live and was given the wrong diagnosis. Someone at PetSmart told me that some vets do that on purpose to make extra money at the expense of your pet's pain. I went to Tempe Vet Hospital and the person up front knew what she had as soon as I walked in the door! We treated her and she got better.

Don't go to any vets in Gilbert, they're either ripping us off, or they're idiots!

Not to mention, Tempe Veterinary Hospital is the most affordable too!

Absolutely love them. I have had such great experiences with Dr. Wells and his crew. I had to put down one of my dogs due to a nasty case of parvo and while it was terribly emotional for me, they allowed me to spend over an hour in the room to say my goodbye and didn't charge me an outrageous amount. Now I take all of my animals there including the puppies my female pit mastiff mix had. I cannot expressed my love for Tempe Vet Hosp. enough!!!

Dr Wells and the staff are great. They are always friendly and caring. Dr Wells takes the time to explain everything to me and answers my questions. He has researched information for me on my dogs illness and gave me the print out. When my dog has had to take medications he looks at what medication in that class to see what would be less expensive and he is always very up front and honest with me.

I really like Tempe Vet, They have low charges for checkups and for shots, I always get my dogs all of the shots including bordatella and its always has cost me over a hundred dollars each dog, It only cost me $70 for a checkup and all the shots at Tempe, which is great! I had been using University Animal Hospital for a little over a year, and it was so over priced! every single time you go in you have to pay $55 dollars for a new health checkup even if you had been there only days before. and the shot sets are at least a hundred and then they tack on bordatella on top of it! also you never have the same vet unless you request them. last time i went in one of my dogs was coughing horribly, a asked the vet is it could be kennel cough because he wasnt curently vaccinated for it and he goes to the dog park and to work with me (at petsmart), he bluntly said NO it HAD to be valley fever!!!! we wanted me to pay $300 for the tests for it. which i didnt have the money so he prescribed me some stuff for sonny which I paid $40 a bottle for a 2 weeks supply on two different meds, come to find out they are generic prescriptions i could have got at walgreens or frys for $6 a bottle! turns out it was none of the above, his trachea had been bruised by his collar when he pulled on a walk, RX a gentle leader, hasn't coughed since, so I got fed up and went searching for a new vet, read great reviews on Tempe, and after a little drive arrived at a little place with a few old cats, but one GREAT vet. and great prices and service too!

The front staff is rude and not very knowledgeable. I called to get a quote for OFA readings and neither person at the desk knew what that was and once I was transferred to a supposed Tech, she knew nothing and hung up.

My ferret is currently very ill and is under the care of Dr. Wells. He is excellent at explaining things to me, and doesn't "dumb things down" at all. He's an incredibly knowledgeable veterinarian and a great guy. The staff and atmosphere at his office is also very nice; he has two laid-back cats and a bird to play with while you're in the waiting room.

I can't sing his praises enough! Go to him!!

I cannot recommend Tempe Veterinary Hospital highly enough. Dr. Wells is very kind, patient and informative, as well as very experienced. He treated my cat who had urinary tract problems for 7 months (including multiple surgeries) and everyone who worked there was unfailingly friendly, helpful and supportive. It made me feel good to go there even though my cat's health problems were such a stressful experience.

They did not hesitate to provide info about reasonable pricing options either. Although all veterinary treatments are somewhat expensive, I did not find the prices here to be any higher than the norm. It is hard to believe since the quality they provide is so much higher than at many other places. I was very lucky to find them and still miss them even though I have moved out of state since then.

One day in 1994, I walked into Dr. Wells' office carrying the body of our beloved cat, Sunday. He went missing all night until I found the body early in the morning. I was trying to find out how to get a decent burial, and I had the luck of reaching Dr. Wells' staff and was told to come right in. They took care of everything. Shortly after this we had taken in a cat abandoned by her owners. Dr. Wells, if you remember Minnie Mouse, she is alive and well in India! We reluctantly left Dr. Wells when my husband was transferred to Chicago. Last year we moved to Bangalore,India with Minnie Mouse and Moon (a cat who joined our family in Chicago). Thank You Dr. Wells.

I lived in Phoenix for a while and would take my animals to Tempe for their check up's. Dr. Wells is the best! He really cares about animals and their owner's. I wish I could move him to Texas!!!!

I have taken my 2 cats & my dog here for years. They are, of course, expensive, but what vet isn't? They will take very good care of your pets. You can tell the employees have a real love of all animals.

PROS: best care your pet can get
CONS: expensive
