Yesterday I went to Sam Levitz to spend over 8 thousand dollars on a Tempur-Pedic bed and realized it would be the last time I ever step foot into that piece of crap store. The store feels more like a rundown used car lot rather than a furniture store. They pulled me in with false advertising and I called them out on it, needless to say the management there cannot back up their lies.
You may hear an add on the radio and TV that says you can get 50 months interest free and ??We pay the sales tax?. They even have it posted throughout the store on large banners hanging from the ceiling. I just wanted you to know that that is an outright lie! They do not pay the sales tax on Tempur-Pedic beds. I drove all the way up from Sierra Vista based on the potential to save over 700 dollars when I find out that (even though their ads don??t state so) they will ??not? give the tax break on their beds. I even got the manager to admit the add was misleading. It wasn??t misleading, it was false advertising! When he refused to do anything about it (not even offer to thrown in a free set of sheets) I realized that this organization was crooked and I would take my business elsewhere. In fact I went on line to the Tempur-Pedic website and was able to order the bed for cheaper that Sam Levitz was going to sell it to me.
I wanted to warn all before wasting a single cent of gas to go see what that store has, it is not worth your time! The sales staff is incompetent, as is the management. The store is dirty and they use common areas as storage for trash. This place feels more like a K-Mart in a bad neighborhood than a high-end furniture store. These people truly do not care about you as a customer and will do whatever dishonest thing they can to steal your money.
If you go there and things turn out bad, don??t say I didn??t warn you??

OMG Let me tell you all something. I purchased livingroom fruniture at the beginning of 2011. The couch I got had already torn fabrick on the bottom of it which you can`t really see. So I thought well it`s cheap I need it now and overloocked it. Than I bought a office set about 2-3 months later which was beginning of May 2011. One of the large tables was completley cracked and NOONE seen this prior to delivery?? Come on give me a breal here.. I know they have someone like a QA person that is supposed to check that before it leaves the warehouse. Anyway, since they could not deliver an intact one the next two days. despite their advertising of "NEXT DAY DELIVERY available and the fact that they came and picked up the damaged one two days later I told them to keep that table. I was supposed to get a refund for that item. I called 9 times so far and was assured every time that my refund will be credited to my account. Well it is the middle of Septenber now and yes I am still waiting and will have to call AGAIN today. I looked at the prior reviews on here and the statements of Sam Levitz sales personnel being so "FRIENDLY". Frinedly does not mean good service. Ofcourse they are friendly. They want YOUR money!!!! The way they run customer service department is an absolut nightmare and obviously they are clueless. One person does not know what the other is doing and noone shows any responsibillity for anything going wrong. If you have other options stay away from there. It is just not worth the headache and frustration that 98% of customers will have to deal with!! If you got lucky enouogh to have a positive expirience believe me it will not remain that way.

I had purchased from here before without much incident but this time I decided to use the financing, and was told by the salesman and staff that I would have a payment due in 45 days. 31 days later before getting a statement, I'm hit with a late fee and they want 2 months worth of payments. Bottom line is don't trust the staff! Customer service is even worse, as it took 2 weeks to get my broken in the box entertainment center replaced, and even the manager didn't care that the sales staff "made up" the first payment due in 45 days to make the sale more attractive.

HORRIBLE service, women working behind the desks mix up bills, statements, with no regard on customer service. Never go to the Outlet on Prince either. Awful service. In addition, awful service!

Worst Customer Service in the world. All the employees besides the sales people at the bottom are very rude and unhelpful. I am going to have to take my dispute with them over a broken defective glass table to legal action. Instead of satisfying a new customers problems and retaining a customer they are choosing to try and keep their $100 off the table.

Piss poor customer service, and I reiterate that ...POOR. Very POOR. Sam Levitz furniture cares but for one thing ...their bottom line. They figure they sell the cheapest stuff in town so why bother with service after the sale. Poor delivery . Damage to goods is likely if not the standard for their delivery and God forbid your furniture has issues of quality. They will not make it right. Once they sell it they forget about it. Poor ethics and poor managers are their standard. You are better off buying quality furniture from a smaller business who cares about service and about the reputation of their business.

My wife and I ordered a dining room table and chairs, the wrong set was delivered twice, third scheduled attempt they were a no-show. The delivery personnel were unhelpful and couldn't have cared less. All of the customer service reps on the phone were rude and condescending. How is this place still in business?

A defective couch was delivered & returned for refund. The delivery charge was not refunded. Customer service at Sam Levitz believes the customer should pay for receiving defective merchandise. Called customer service to say, "I paid for delivery of a working couch, not a defective couch.." They replied, "Well, we did deliver it.." & refused to refund the $36 delivery charge. The customer service rep agreed that if a chair had been delivered instead of the couch I ordered than the delivery charge would be refunded. Well, I ordered a working couch & received a non-working couch ...wrong item. I was told "It's not Sam Levitz fault the couch was defective, it's the vendors fault.".
OK, so have the vendor pick up the delivery charge. How did it become the customers responsibility for defective merchandise from Sam Levitz?
Calling customer service was a fun experience... I was transfered four times and hung up on before being told they are keeping my money for delivery of faulty merchandise.

The customer service is a complete joke. One department never knows what the other is doing. They have screwed up my current order three times. Once they delivered it to the wrong place, then they unscheduled my delivery, and now they can't even tell me when they can call me to give me a period when they might be able to deliver my bed.

The salespeople were very helpful, but this is my 2nd bad experience with the customer service/delivery end of this company. The last time they delivered furniture they assembled it incorrectly causing the furniture to break when used.

Don't let the low prices attract you; what you have to pay in anxiety medications will more than make up the difference.

I guess I didn't learn cause in 2006 I once again went there and purchased a leather couch (6 pieces that attach to each other). I purchased the additional insurance and the leather care package therefore I didn't think anything could go wrong this time. Boy was I wrong. First the wrong color was delivered, then when I got the right one there were toys and papers froma previous owner in a storage drawer. The couch began to rip within 2 months, I immediatly began to call. They sent a few Techs from Sam Levitz and he leather care company. I have been fighting with them for the past 15 months about getting new couches/money back. Thier customer service dept is a joke and they never call you back.

This was probably the worst shopping experience of my life! I would gladly pay more elsewhere to avoid ever doing business with Levitz again. The sales people are paid on commission, so they are desparate for a sale and will say ANYTHING to get it. Here is a list of complaints I had about my recent purchase.

-They mislabeled a mattress we bought off clearance. It was supposed to be a Regular King, but turned out to be a California King.

-We ordered a bedframe they said was in stock and would be delivered 2 days later. 2 months later we still hadn't received it.

-When we realized the mattress size was wrong, they couldn't order a california king beframe in the style we liked. It took us 2 hours at the store to get them to take back the mattress and exchange it for a regular king size.

-We waited 6 hours for delivery of our bedroom set on Labor Day, but the drivers never showed up. The manager at the store said they often lose control of the drivers and they just decide not to show up.

-After rescheduling the delivery, we were given a time between 3-7pm on a Wednesday. At 7pm I called their dispatch and was told the driver hadn't showed up to work yet, but that they had until 10pm to deliver. At 9:57 they showed up, but 2 pieces were missing. They told me they would be redelivered in a week. They finished at my house at 10:35 pm.

-After waiting 2 days to be called with a new delivery date for the remaining pieces, I finally had to call the store myself. I was disconnected once, put on hold for 20 minutes, and transferred around the store 7 times before I got someone who knew anything.

-Since I'd already taken time off work for the 1st delivery, I requested an evening timeframe. They said ok, but when the lady called back to tell me the times, it was 11-3pm and they refused to change them.

Overall the customer service is horrible. When you talk to them on the phone they are extremely unsympathic and don't care about anything you say.
