They say that their meat is so tender that you don't need teeth to eat it; that is accurate.
Very casual and friendly atmosphere, generous portions, and tasty BBQ fill the place with great smells and satisfy the appetite. There are other BBQ places in Phoenix that may be a tad better, but this is a good one... and a local legend.
The price is right, which is probably why people stood in line, but the food was disappointing. The meats were overcooked, the decor was weak, but the sauce was OK and the baked beans were very good. BBQ meat is not supposed to be so bad that it needs good sauce to cover it up.
Pros: Price, baked beans
We love their barbeque pork and salads. We haven't tried the cat fish yet but plan to. We were very disappointed in the ham we got for Christmas. It was more of a pressed meat. I guess that was my fault for assuming it would be good without trying it. Next year back to Honey Baked Ham.
Pros: barbeque sauce, cole slaw, beans
Cons: prices fairly high
The best bbq I have ever had. An absolute must for out of towners. You will always come back for more.
