Just terrific. I've used two of the vets on staff here (Dr. Stephens and Dr. Landreth) and was very impressed by both. They provided excellent care for our dog, with their first priority being his health, but keeping costs in mind as well. Dr. Landreth handled a particularly difficult situation with our dog where a diagnosis proved to be illusive, even contacting other vets on the internet to try to figure out what was causing his poblems. The staff is friendly, concerned and professional. W We are truly sorry that we are moving out of state and will have to find a new vet.

As a professional trainer and behaviorist for over 30 years in the Valley I have nothing but respect and admiration for Dr. Scott Darger and Power Road AH overall.

Over the years I have had very intimate knowledge of the operations and individuals involved in this practice-sitting in on surgeries, the life and death decisions involved in hundreds of client's pets, and the everyday challenges of running a medical practice that has huge impact on people's and animals lives.

I have appeared on television with Dr. Darger and done several in-service training seminars with him and his staff. I specialize in aggression problems and work closely with several vets in the Valley in both a behavioral and clinical atmosphere to solve those most serious of problems and remain highly impressed with Dr. Darger to this day.

Given the special knowledge I have I must reveal that Dr. Darger became very ill a few years back and actually had to temporarily quit the practice, turning it over to a pair of complete idiots who were only business and profit oriented. Happily, he's made a wonderful recovery and retaken the reigns of the clinic and returned it very quickly to it's previous impeccable status among the Valley's pet professionals. This is the only explanation I can imagine for some of the negative comments I've seen in this forum.

In short, my highest recommendations follow this wonderful team and the work they do. I no longer reside in the Valley full time but when I am here I am always pleased whenever I get the chance to work with Scott and his staff. You can likely match the quality, but in over 3 decades of very close and I'd like to think educated experience, you will find none better. I've had clients drive over 100 miles to avail themselves of this fine clinics resources and nothing but fantastic results in every case.

I've also worked in the human medicine fields and do not exaggerate when I say I'd rather have Dr. Darger work on ME, than most human physicians I have experience with!

Thanks for reading!

I have been taking my dogs to PRAH for about 18 months - both dogs love it and so do their humans!
My 12 year old dog started having seizures a few months ago and has congestive heart failure. Dr. Landreth has spent hours doing research, following up with specialists, consulting with colleagues and communicating the relevant information to me. Not many vets provide this level of service!
We are always given a written estimate of the cost of tests and surgeries after the doctor discusses all options and the pros and cons of each one with us. There are never any surprises when we get the final bill.

I've been taking my pets (3 dogs & 3 cats) to Power Road Animal Hospitl for many, many years. I have always received great service from the front desk to the vets themselves. They've always been honest with prices and treatments. We have had regular shots done, treated a diabetic cat, injuries with our hunting dog, and many other sicknesses/injuries in between between our six animals. I would recommend them as a great veterinarian to anyone!

Sadly, under good conscience, I can no longer refer any more clients to Power Road Animal Hospital. I question the front receptionists and activities behind the front desk. We have been clients at this facility hospital for over a decade at their service. Through my line of work, I have, in the past, referred many clients to this facility because of their communication, honest, excellent and thorough service. During the early years, we were received and attended to with excellent upfront service, a warm and honest veterinarian and staff. My pet was always attended by the SAME polite and informative vet for several years. However, within the last few years, I question the two front receptionists and activities behind the front desk. One receptionist, not your sharpest pencil in the box-clients beware- appears to make many mistakes and gives out misleading information in person and over the phone. The other one is rude and possesses little attention to details. As per our conversation, it has been detected that she takes advantage on the owners' desperation in taking their money without much concern for the infirm pet. No smile, no greeting as you walk in, 'What's your name?" ...., "Pet's name?"...., are the only cold greetings one receives for ALL clients as they walk in, as observed waiting for a vet to attend us. While I understand this might be an isolated incident, it has been happening with more frequency within the last few years. Not the kind of reception one would like to be greeted with an ill pet. I would expect to receive THOROUGH information and fees from my own doctor and auto mechanic. Why can't the Power Road Animal Hospital do the same? The professional level has dropped significantly. My pet has been seen by several different vets over several years-high turn over. On several occasions, I have found the counters still wet after spraying them and objects placed on top of wet areas. They start adding fees and charges after the fact, They start pushing follow up visits and extra medication that is not necessarily healthy or needed for your pets. On a positive side, I have received respect from the doctors. However, better communication and attention to details still needs to occur between doctors, nurse, receptionists and presented to the clients in an ACCURATE manner. Beware, question and take time to read ALL information, procedures, medications administered BEFORE signing and do not be afraid to ask questions. After all, as a professional myself, I expect that from my own clients.

We adopted our beautiful Chloe from the animal shelter in maricopa. We started going to an animal hospital other than Power and they were very dodgy. Chloe hated them. This last weekend we tried power road animal hospital because chloe had a bleeding sore on her leg and the animal hospital we went to didnt have an appointment available for the weekend, and power road did. Chloe did not do what we were used to at the doctor. She was very quiet and very excited to be there and meet the nurses when she would otherwise bark extensively. The front desk reps were very kind and smiling, Chloe loved them. That was the first plus. And the doctors were very thorough and seemed to know exactly what they were talking about. I will definately be using them permanently. I'm not easy to win over especially with the protection of my "child" so to speak, and I was very impressed. Great job guys!!

We had our sweet, old girl in for what we hoped would be the removal of a tumor. Sadly, cancer was discovered during surgery. We were called immediately and received the opportunity to come to the hospital, spend over an hour with our still groggy girl, before we had to let her go. It still brings tears to my eyes, but the staff and facility made what was horrible, bearable. I am so glad our dog received the wonderful care and concern she deserved while being treated. And, we all received a great deal of respect in her passing. Thank you Power Road Animal Hospital. We will always remember your thoroughness and kindness.

I have 2 westies one 7 and the other 1 and my experience has been above and beyond with all staff. Both dogs have had to have surgery planned and unplanned and Dr. Scott Darger has done both;Keeping me informed in both cases. I was very worried about finding a vet to care for my one westie when I got her at 5 years she was going blind. This is the closest place to my house so I met up with people going in and out and asked for information inside after talking to a dozen people.. Professionally, I am very pleased with my going on 3 year relationship and would not consider moving. I have not always had Dr. Darger as my vet and believe that there is a very high standard of vet care at this hospital. The IRS was not looking for anyone working at the Power Road Animal Hospital and the Power Road Animal Hospital is doing very well. One thing I try to do is thank the staff now and then, they work hard, under difficult situations, and are always busy. You don't always see that but I know the care about their animals.

I have been taking my fur children here for years and i wouldn't trust them with anyone else.. The entire staff is awesome from the front staff ladies to the Superb Dr's and excellent techs. One of our babies ate a sock and it got stuck in the intestines and we had to do emergency surgery. The staff was very prompt to the emergency and followed up with us after to make sure our baby was o.k. i would highly recommend this clinic over any i have ever been to. And there was also one other thing i would like to say, i was also in the clinic when the IRS gentleman came into the office. I truly believe that some people have nothing better to do but try to make other people look bad, before speaking about something like that perhaps they should get the facts straight. There is no worry of Power Road closing.

Hi,
I've been going here for several years and they've been fantastic with my labrador. Unfortunately, we had to put her down last June due to old age. It was very sad. They were wonderful through the entire process and we actually ended up adopting a kitten through them later. All the follow-ups for our new kitty were done without hesitation. The only thing is, they asked if I wanted a paw print of my lab when we put her down and I said yes. But, they didn't do it and there were a lot of miscommunications as to why it hadn't been done. However, if I had known there was a problem with whomever does the paw prints, I would have kept her ashes and buried them in the back yard. (Keeping ashes was another option.) That's my only complaint -- they could have been more attentive to detail at such a painful time.

We've been taking our dog to this vet for about 5 years now. Since she is getting older she is starting to require a little more care, including having some teeth removed a few months ago. The staff is always very nice and it is easy to get questions answered or make an appointment. You can tell they all love animals! What made me realize how much they care was what happened after my dog's surgery for her teeth. They called the next day to see how she was feeling and if I had any questions. I was amazed! It gets even better though...we got a get well card in the mail for her a few days later!

PROS: Too many to list!
CONS: None!

Great facility with a number of good vets. My favorites are a husband and wife...Dr. Alber and his wife Dr. Freeman. They are excellent. I know my pets are in good hands there. They are wonderful at taking in stray and unwanted pets and finding them good adopted homes!

I went to Power Road Animal Hospital (for years) because it was conveniently located to my home. I wish I had taken the effort to find a better place.

I loved the doctor who took care of our dog and so we continued to come back there.
