A TRUE cat killing Shelter
by John D.
This must be a completely different shelter? I remember attempting to visit last fall to visit my sponsor kitty and being turned away because "my donations were no longer required", yet I was still receiving letters asking for those sponsor payments. The staff that was there had been so friendly and helpful, even when they were being bashed by some long time volunteers, I don't understand what this idiot of a director thinks she's doing! The articles and reports I've been reading about what's been happening at the Hermitage are breaking my heart. Convenience euthanasia simply to save some money is NOT true to the mission statement, nor is hiring a sadistic monster of a vet tech. Have any of you seen Mike's freakish page? To all you current supporters, I suggest you re-evaluate your thoughts and actually visit the shelter...trust me, you'll be disappointed.

Hermitage is...
lies! I feel bad for the cats :| I've noticed that these comment posts were made around the time the place overturned. How sad, have you guys been to the place?

Much Improved!!
by Stephanie B.
What a transformation! A couple years ago, this was a crowded, dirty and smelly place run by UN-CERTIFIED animal care people. Oh . . .they called themselves vet techs, but they had no training.
Now, the cats look great, all are well cared for, vet techs are amazing, and the shelter is rescuing cats, finding homes, or becoming the permanent home.
Thank you, thank you. I am a regular donor now and have provided for the Hermitage in my will!

Thank you Hermitage!
by Sandy W.
The Hermitage has been transformed into an incredible shelter and adoption center, furthering the goal of making Tucson a no-kill community. I am so glad the Hermitage has finally entered the 21st century. Coming from the Bay area, a true no-kill community, I can easily say that the Hermitage is taking Tucson along the path of humane companion animal stewardship.

Great Place, New Faces
by Elaine D.
About 3 years ago I went to the hermitage to make a donation. ALL the people I dealt with were rude and hostile. The shelter smelled so bad and I saw so many sick looking cats I would be afraid to adopt from them. I recently heard about a huge turnover at the shelter and old volunteers were slamming the new staff. I went, was greeted, given a smile and a Thank you. I WILL donate to them in the future. Granted some cats have been put down which is against the mission statement but I understand that sometimes that is the best/last gift I have had to give to my pets. May those cats that were put down crossed the rainbow bridge peacefully.

Fantastic
by Jessica S.
This place is amazing. When I first visited, I was expecting to leave the facility depressed. Instead, I was impressed with how happy the cats appear to be and the friendliness of the staff. They're top notch people, doing a difficult job with limited resources.
