I was looking up the phone number to Stuttgart to make an appointment, noticed these reviews and decided to check them out. Was sad to see that someone was disappointed and accused the shop of "planting" the positive reviews. Just to let you know I'm not a "plant," my name is Deborah, I live in Green Valley and my e-mail address is debycox@cox.net. I'll be glad to correspond with anyone who has any questions.

We've known Gary since he was service manager at Beaudry VW in Tucson years ago. I had many problems w/some of the mechanics not properly repairing things the first time, telling me things needed to be fixed that weren't broken, etc., and Gary was always the calm voice of reason who helped make things right -- and kept me from going postal at the dealership. Haha.

When he bought Stuttgart and took the best service writer from VW and another we liked from the Audi dealer, plus the VERY best mechanic with him, we had no qualms about following. These guys chose to leave a secure job at the dealer and take a chance on a new enterprise because they believed in Gary, and I think that says a lot.

We take all three of our cars to Stuttgart (and several previously owned VWs, including a 22-year-old Vanagon) and have NEVER had an issue. We feel confident that if we ever did, it would be handled to our satisfaction. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We've checked w/the dealer to compare prices and Stuttgart is always less, sometimes by a lot (Audi timing belt replacement: dealer - $1500, Stuttgart - $980).

One of the things we like about Gary is that he's a real car nut. This is not just a business to him - he really likes cars. He also enjoys his customers and treats them like friends.

I have no hesitation in recommending Gary and Stuttgart to friends, and eight or ten now go regularly. They are all happy. I knew they would be.

I have been very, very happy with Gary and his whole team at Stuttgart. I have had numerous problems with my car, and Gary has been great throughout.

These guys are truly awesome. Gary is as hands on as they come and when it comes to VW's, there is nobody better than Raul West of the Mississippi. While looking for a used VW, I talked to Gary about what to look for and when I found the right one I took it to them to do a pre-buy inspection. It turned out to be the best $94 I ever spent. They found $2,000.00 worth of immediate repairs that included CV boots steering parts. When I finally bought one from a local dealer that came with alleged receipts for all the major maintenance being done, a check engine light came on the night I got it and Raul diagnosed the problem for free to make sure the dealer was not screwing me over. Then upon further inspection it turned out the work was not done the dealer had claimed, Gary and Raul were there to get me the proof I needed to get the dealer to get the work done, and since it was done at Stuttgart, I know it was done right. These guys know there stuff and are big enough to diagnose and fix everything, however they are still small enought to have a personality and tell you the truth, good bad or indifferent. Dealership's are great, but they charge $30 an hour more for labor, have a much bigger mark up on parts and don't do any better work; so why anyone would pick the dealer over them is completely beyond me!

hello tucson, my name is gary and i am the owner of stuttgart autohaus llc. i am not sure how to respond when a customer (L.B.) threatens to bad mouth us anywhere and anytime they can. i was expecting this review because they promised me that they would do and say anything they could to hurt our business if we didnt give their diagnostic fee back to them. i can promise you this, there are two sides to every story and unfortunately when someone is being vindictive they leave out the details that tell the true story. stuttgarts reputation speaks for itself and i hope that tucson consumers will decide for themselves. i am really sorry that people use something as great as the internet for something like this. thank you for reading. L.gary. p.s. the amount she was quoted was an estimate for a proper repairs so there would be no more problem. if they wanted a partial repair we could have done it for less. our techs are ASE certified and our warranty is twelve months or twelve thousand miles on all parts and labor,

Beware, the owner will take you for all you've got. He tried to charge $290 for work I had completed instead at a reputable shop with certified mechanics for $147, with a better warranty. When I turned down the work based on the over-the-top estimate, he charged me $47 for time to diagnose the problem. The second shop diagnosed the problem in 5 minutes. Stuttgart Autohaus also returned my car with close to no fluid in the radiator, so my car started to overheat in two blocks, but I managed to get the car to the second shop, where I wasn't bullied into being ripped off. Watch out for overly enthused reviews of this place; they were probably planted by the owner.

Unfortunately, this place has fallen from grace since Ed (the original owner, German) retired. We had to take our Highlander back approx 5 times to fix the SAME problem. On the last round, they got a rental car for us, but to make a long story short (and not really their fault), we ended up paying $500 extra because the rental got damaged - hell of an expensive "free" rental. If we hadn't had to take the car back so many times, we never would have had that rental. The guys are very nice but incompetent. We won't be going back.

I had the check engine light come on in my 03 VW Jetta. I was able to make an appointment for the next day. They checked out the problem and was able to get my car out in the same day. The pricing is reasonable and the services is great. They offer a door to door shuttle if you don't want to sit in the lobby. I would highly recommend Stuttgart.

Had an oil leak in my 07 GTI. Took it to stuttgart and Raul diagnosed it to a defected crankcase valve within 30 minutes. No charge 'cause I am a repeat customer and the car was still under warranty. It's good to know there are still decent small shops like Stuttgart around that aren't in business to rip you off

The knowledgeable, helpful staff at Stuttgart Autohaus make it a great place to have repairs or maintenance done on your car. Stuttgart specializes in foreign cars; we've taken a BMW, a Toyota, 2 Volkswagens, and a Subaru to them over the years, and we've gotten great all-around service every time.

The most recent trip to Stuttgart involved an auto repair that the dealership was unable to properly diagnose. When the diagnostic results from the dealer didn't quite seem right (and we were told that the repair was going to cost us an arm and a leg), we had the car towed to Stuttgart. Not only did they diagnose and repair the problem immediately, they also contacted our extended warranty company for us, and got the payment squared away.

We couldn't be happier with Stuttgart's prompt, efficient, and honest service!
