I've been going to China Village since I opened a business nearby in 1982. My business is no longer there, but I make it a point to drive quite a distance to enjoy their food and service. The food is always of the highest grade and quality and the staff is friendly and always happy to have us. I peronally am addicted to the "House Special Chicken", number 14. Try it, you'll go back!
We were looking forward to some good old fashioned Chinese food which I thought we would find at this long-time restaurant, but we were very disappointed in the meal. The service was very slow; once we gave our order, it took about half an hour to get our food. I asked if could get brown rice instead of white, and even though they do have it, you have to pay extra for about a cup (what's with that?) We ordered Kung Pao Scallops as our spicy dish and it was very bland, not spicy at all. I had to ask for chile oil to perk it up (which smelled old and was a dark, brownish weird color, not red like usual). The Moo Goo Gai Pan was just passable and made with dark meat rather than white chicken breast (I should have asked), and canned mushrooms instead of fresh, yuk ! We probably will not go back.
Love there takeouts. A family favorite for Chinese food when watching a lazy weekend movie or when we are tired to cook or when we have company and decide to order Chinese. Pretty extensive menu, delicious food and moderately priced. The quality is superb. All the ingredients are fresh and the sauces fragrant and delicious. Definitely worth a try.
