I have been going to skate country since I was a child,Recently I started going again with my 5yr old son. He just loves the place there are enough rules that are compently enforced so I feel comfortable letting him out on the main rink even though he is a begginer, only have skated 4 or 5 times in his life. The lockers there are resonable at 50 cents. The snack bar is ok,clean and I noticed they had a A rating by the Health Department last time I was there. There are several different sessions ie; cheap skate which is a 2hr session as opposed to thier matinee or family night which are 3hr sessions.Sometimes there tends to be alot of kids but I still found it very enjoyable, and the socializing benifits for my son invalueable! The staff was very friendly and helpful to me and my son,and made me feel that my son was in a safe and secure place!
To conclude Skate Country is a great family fun spot that has provided years of enjoyment for the community! I will defenintly continue to enjoy thier facility!!

I've learned that Skate Country tries to provide a great time for everyone by offering a wide range of different skating sessions. From Adult Night to Tiny Tots and Top 40 Night to Christian Music Night. If you do not do your home work I can see how you might be disappointed. But if you choose the correct session for your age and music interest you will be very pleased. Skate Country is a very clean and modern place. The place always looks brand new. I can't believe they have been there for 35 years! It has many rules, mostly for the benefit of safety which the staff does an efficient job of enforcing. Usually the only ones that do not appreciate these rules are the unruly rule breakers. This rink knows that one bad apple can spoil the whole barrel. Therefore, I applaud them for getting rid of the bad apples. They have also gotten much better at answering their phone. Usually, the only time you get a recording now, is when they are closed. They do get very busy at times, but what successful business doesn't. All and all, if you are an experience skating rink customer, you will fine Skate Country in Tucson one of the best.

My girls love it (ages 13 and 10). It is a nice place to take the girls and their friends.

BUT - frequently I get annoyed with the kids that work there - It is difficult at time to get anyone to answer the phone. When you leave a message it doesn't get returned. Their answering machine recordings are frequently out dated - give info on previous events. The snack bar is usually understaffed or they are out of basic items.

This is a good place to skate as long as you stay on the good side of the staff. Once you get on thier bad side..... forget it. They will toss you out quicker than you can say "let's skate". Like I said.... it is a good place to skate, but, beware of the staff. If they do not like you, they will toss you out. And they are prone to believe heresay without confirming or validating the source.

I used to go here as a kid, and always had so much fun. If you aren't a kid, you probably will be uncomfortable with how many kids there are. The skate sessions always have different activities, like slow dancing, the hokie pokie, and contests. There is a snack bar, locker and skate rentals, and a small skating rink for little kids. The rink is big enough that you can skate on the outside and hold onto the wall if you aren't that good, or you can venture into the middle if you are more skilled. Overall, a great place to have fun!

I love to take my kids and my nephews to skate country. They have certain sessions for different age groups. Going on a friday night is for the teens and preteens. Saturday afternoon and sunday's are for the smaller children. I always call ahead of time as the phone number they have is prerecorded. So you can what skate times are for your crowd. You can sometimes find passes in the Mint that is delivered in your mail. You can rent skates or inline skates as well if you don't own our own. They provide lockers at 50 cents. But great to store you stuff. The snack bar is a little pricey. But its great fun for the family. I have never experienced the staff not enforcing rules when I go. I have been going there since 1983.

PROS: Great place to a family outing
CONS: Make sure you call to ensure you are going with the right age groups

I remember going to Skate Country as a young child and loving to skate there, so I thought it would be fun to take my 9 year old nephew early on a Friday night--big mistake. The place was packed with jr.high and early high school students and was not family friendly for smaller kids. The staff was not enforcing rules about safe skating and the teenagers there were very reckless. I won't go again unless it is a special family skate or something.
