Ratings_icons great experience

Dr. Petcu is a great vet. He has been practicing for 16 years and seems very knowledgeable about everything. He explained in depth about the procedure and was careful to mention the best and the worst outcomes. He was also very upfront about cost, which was appreciated since some vets try to hide total cost. The office was small but clean, even the kennels were fresh. I used his services for the free voucher program to have my dog neutered and although it did have cost it was respectable because this vet REQUIRES you to buy pain meds for your dog if they are undergoing surgery. Believe it or not, some vets I called made pain meds optional. I was glad that Dr. Petcu is caring enough to enforce mandatory pain meds where others would skimp to save money with your dog suffering in the wake.

Ratings_icons He's a good vet, but

My original opinion has changed. I thought he was caring and kind. He is a good vet... but don't count on him for post surgical care. I paid upfront for my dear dog had to have a leg amputation. I don't drive because I am disabled, and have used his mobile services (not cheap) before. He refused to come see my dog after a stitch came out 1 week after recovery and also refused to come out to remove the stitches as agreed at 2 weeks after recovery. We talked 3 times about him coming to my house to remove stitches and do a post surgical checkup and he agreed. Then he did a 180 degree turn and said he wasn't coming. I am devastated. I also wasn't able to get a lab report because he called to say the lab wanted more money. This is after I paid for everything before my dog left my house to have the amputation. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income and my opinion has changed.

Ratings_icons Best Vet In Phoenix!

Helena M.

My little lady, Tina (cat), became ill in July 2006. I had remembered seeing his office on Bethany Home Road so I stopped by and made an appointment. When I brought Tina in I explained her medical problem with her eye, then told Dr. Petcu my concerns. His immediate reaction was not to treat anything until blood work was done. He drew blood and suggested to give her a medicated bath to treat her skin problem. I told him to do it. 2 days later Dr. Petcu called me with the diagnosis. Tina had FIP. He told me not to worry as it was treatable with meds and she could conceivably live a long and healthy life as long as I gave her the meds.He explained to me exactly what FIP was and told me were to go on the internet to learn more about it. I then had a concern for my other cat, Simon. He said there was very little chance of him getting it as it was primarily hereditary. But just in case to have Simon checked.I took Tina back 2 weeks ago for some blood work and some other things and the very next morning Dr. Petcu called me to give me the results. He was extremely thorough and answered all of my questions and each time that I have gone in to have Tina's meds refilled, he comes out and asks me how she is doing. He is very thoughtful, caring and loving of his patients. I just wish there were more vets in the world like him.Someday I will move, but I'll never leave Dr. Petcu as long as he continues to have his practice. Also his assistant who is bi-lingual is extremely nice and helpful. His office is very clean, neat and organized. I just hope that he gets many, many new patients.

Ratings_icons this guy is something else...

July M.

I took my dog in today for a second opinion to Dr.Petcu This place ( West Plaza Animal Hospital) is imaculate, the cleanest animal hospital I ever seen. In the lobby area there are classy renaissance pictures all over. The guy has a enormous number of diplomas hanging all over the walls. The receptionist is kind and bilingual. Although I was so concerned about my dog having parvo, I have noticed all this little things. The Doctor is very knowledgeable, courteous and...sexy.. he was speaking in a different language with a client ( not spanish...I gues it was italian or something...), but as soon as he starts speaking you can tell the guy knows just about every little thing about your pet... He saved my dog while the other vet told me to put it to sleep ...he was reasobable in price services but not cheap.....
I would never go somwhere else to have my dog seen.. the guy is soo sexy... he does not wear a ring but I didn't dear to ask him if he is married.. I gues he's not
I reccomend this veterinarian and this animal hospital...is a world class place and your pet is in the best hands. I'm gonna send all my relatives there....
