Worth going off any diet

The whole family will love this place. Try going at off hours or days, like most good places you have to wait during peek hours. The staff is friendly. Watch out for kids in the parking lot.

There is a reason for the long wait. The kids can play with their own dough while they wait for the real pizza to cook. Fresh ingredients make this pizza the best.

THE best food anywhere and worth the WAIT
by Risha B.
Wow, I live so far from this restaurant and on a Friday or Saturday night I usually have to wait at least 30 minutes...but it's SO worth it! The food, esp the Big Rig Pasta and Chicken Caesar Salad are to die for. Their dessert, the pizzokie, is so good my friends and I created a new word to describe it...joygasm! The pizza is really yummy too. It's a fun atmosphere and it's great but can someone please tell the owner to build one on the West Side of town???

Great Pizza
by Bob1975
I am a pizza snob. I love it and can't eat one that's sub-par. But I must say that Oregano's thin crust pizza is fabulous. The sauce is perfect and the crust is baked to perfection. I went there for a friend's birthday and have been a repeat customer ever since.
Pros: Everything
Cons: None.

The Best in Gilbert!
by dobin1258
I don't know what to start with, the food, ambience, service, menu! Everything here is top notch. The food in original and fresh to order. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The outside Patio is wonderful with a true Bistro feel. We take family and friends here often and the family style servings are always a great option. Try this restaurant and you will defianately be hooked!
Pros: Original food, hot and fresh. Clean and friendly. Wonderful Patio!
Cons: nothing

Awesome!
by gabbyphilbin
This place is great! I know the wait to sit down can be kinda unnerving, but the pizza is just that good! I think that's what makes the wait that much worse, knowing just how great it is and that you have to keep waiting before you can have it! Argh!

Okay food, amazing pizookie
by raquelwood
The wait was really very long, but the service was nice once we sat down. The meal was just ok. The calamari was passable but not good enough to go back for. The pizzokie however, is craveable! Hot and gooey with quality ice cream. Yummy with a capital Y. Worth going back for that alone.

My favorite restaurant in Phoenix!
by emalnati
Oregano's is one of the best restaurants in town. The wait staff is always friendly and the food is fantastic (and reasonable too)! Sometimes it takes awhile to be seated, but it is worth the wait! It is a fun atmosphere and a great experience for out-of-towners. Also, you have to try their pizookie!
Pros: customer service, food, value...
Cons: sometimes a long wait or difficult parking (some locations)

Truly Fantastic!
by chesney95
I love this place. The Beefstro Salad is unbelievable! and the Deep Dish Pizzas are worth the wait. I have never had an item at Oregano's that I did not like. For an appetizer, I recommend the Guaca-Tony.
We visit as often as possible.
Pros: Great Atmosphere, Great Food
Cons: Limited Parking, Long Waits

OBSESSED
by defyinggravity05
Ok so I might be slightly biased, but I went to high school about four blocks from Oregano's and literally came here 3-5 times a week for lunch/dinner. It is the most fun restaurant I have ever been to... Granted, I know all of the waiters and they usually will dish out free drinks or comp a salad or pizzookie, but it is just an awesome, awesome place. The salads are excellent (try ordering the italian chicken on a salad instead of the regular chicken... not on the menu, but reeeeeeeeally good), the pizza is awesome, and the pastas are good (especially Zany Ziti) though perhaps not the best ever created. But great garlic bread, great atmosphere, and an most of all, the pizza cookie (pizzookie) is THE most wonderful thing ever created and ABSOLUTELY worth the necessary trip to the gym following dinner. They have white chocolate macadamia nut and peanut butter chocolate chip now, but classic chocolate chip is unstoppable. It's also nice to get ice cream on the side because then it doesn't smush the cookie... if that bothers you, haha. In any case, it is absolutely incredible and a necessary follow-up to dinner. If you don't want to wait, the best thing to do is eat at a semi-awkward time... particularly between 2:30pm-4:45pm. Before/after that, expect a decent wait (normally at least 20-30 minutes)... but it is worth it.... And the small size maintains the familial atmosphere (you'll understand). Also, it's definitely better for groups of 4 or less.
Pros: Pizzookies (pizza cookies!) are AMAZING!, amazing staff, incredibly fun restaurant
Cons: some pastas aren't fantastic (still quite good though... especially Zany Ziti), no rezzies

Best Casual Italian
by kknowlton
This restaurant is so fun and casual for either a couple or a big group of people. We typically go with four people, and order this appetizer called guacatony, a medium pizza, and this amazing pablo picasso salad that is so yummy. With tip and drinks and everything you won't spend more than $35 and you have leftovers for a week. So good! The only bad thing is that there is typically a long wait, but it is well worth it, and the atmosphere is just so fun anyways.
Pros: Great Atmosphere, Excellent Food, Great Service
Cons: Long wait

Fantastic Place To Eat
by garytarr
This pizza joint is awesome! Friendly service, great food, one of the best dining environments in the valley and you never leave hungry. The food is consistent and it feels like you are in a neighborhood house instead of a strip mall with no character. Why go anywhere else?

Overrated, sorry.
by azdg
This rating is for the Tempe location.
Most overrated and hyped up psydo-italian style restaurant. Sorry guys but this crap is absolutely NOT anything close to real Italian food. Depending on the time of the day the wait time is rediculous and waiter staff can be quite arrogant.
Go there if you want to overpay for average food and get hassled by slow waitresses.
Pros: use of spices
Cons: mediocre quality, expensive, too busy

Always worth the wait
by oakramer
I usually go to the Scottsdale location once a month at least when my girlfriend is in town. There is always a wait because of the high quality of food and service. A lot of the servers have been there for years and remember my name when I come in. It just makes you feel at home when you eat and hang out there. Most restraunts level of service goes down with the more customers they service...Oregano's service level continues to accel no matter how many people cram in there. Always worth the wait :-)

Don't miss
by lazarus629
The long waits attest to the quality of Oregano's. Not only is the food first rate, service is warm, friendly and just plain fun. The pizza is the menu focus, but try the salads (just wonderful), the soups (but not in summer), and the desserts while you enjoy the inventive surroundings.
We make it point ot eat at Oregano's virtually every time we visit Phoenix.
Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Service

A Taste of Home!
by rwhaviland
Finally! Oregano's has shown the "Chicago Style" wannabes just what 's the real deal! I will wait as long as it take to eat at this fine establishment. GREAT Pizza, great atmosphere, and great music (a little more blues would be a nice touch!). Whoever said, "There is always room for improvement.", has obviously never dined at Oregano's!
Pros: Pizza, Atmosphere, Music
Cons: , Limited parking

Pizza Cookie
by sugarhigh13323
Not only is the ambiance amazing with Frank Sintra-style music and Chicago scenery, but also the service is wonderful. The food is fabulous and the best part of all meals, dessert! Oregano's serves the best dessert ever. It is a slightly baked cookie weighing in at a half of a pound topped with three scoops of ice cream & chocolate chips. It is the best thing ever! Also, Oregano's recently took the antipasto salad off the menu, but you can still order it, so order it people!!! FABULOUS!!!!!!

Miss the Taste
by tiffany2be
I lived in Phoenix and am now living in Indianapolis. Whenever we go back I have to eat @ Oregano's at least twice. They have the best salad ever! Their pizza's alway hit the spot. They also have "healthier" items too. You can purchase a Tshirt for $5 w/ logo's like Menu can trust, etc. Great environment & always great service! Must try it!!!
Pros: great food & service, Awesome patio, great price
Cons: limited parking

We stumbled upon this great Italian eatery and make sure we eat there every time we are in Phoenix. One of the best meals we have had in all of AZ, bring it to the to the east coast!
Pros: Reasonably priced, great food, great service
Cons: crowded, too far from NY

Most Delectible
by BigR57
I eat at Oregano's at least twice a week. The servers and management are very attentive. I have gotten to know the employees and always feel very welcome.
The only disappointment is I used to receive a discount because I was a regular, but no longer receive one. I know I'm not entitled, but still am a little disappointed. However, I still am very happy with the quality and price of the food. Oregano's is always a fun place to eat.
Pros: great food, inexpensive, fun employees
Cons: loud music, too much Frank Sinatr

No Chains
by MustangDean
First of all Oregano's is a chain, second I see at least two or three more on this list is a chain pizza also. I have nothing against chains, but the terms local and chain does not go together. Now my vote. Fuzzy's is tucked away in the corner of a shopping center on 89th ave & Bell. It may be a little out of the way but the flavor of the pies is worth it. Thin crust and lots of cheese. Decor is Chicago everything. It's truly a family operation, in other words a genuine local joint. I live in Tucson now but every time I get to Phoenix I try to stop by and have one of thier pizzas. That's something I know I can't get here, unlike Oregano's who's Tucson location is not that far from my house.

Little Italy Yummies
by crunch
Awesome super thin pizza. Lots of gourmet toppings to choose from. They also have great pasta, fried calamari, and deserts.
The place is very busy all of the time, but it is worth the wait. It is cozy and quaint, but relatively kid friendly. Table space is limitted, so big parties would be hard for them to accomadate. As for as locations go the Tempe, Az location is the best.!
Pros: tasty food, fun atmosphere, lots of variety
Cons: little parking, crowded, a little pricy

The wait is part of the fun!
by mmllwright
My wife and I frequent this place and just love it. Have yet to get a bad meal and we order something different every time. If you hate a wait to be seated, than go to Pizza Hut, the wait in the bar is a great place to socialize, its half the fun. The bartender is the best in town, thanks Lars.

Herbs spoken here
by DesireeB
Not really an authentic Italian dining experiene, Oregano's offers modernized, neuvo Italian fare, nonetheless. It's casual atmosphere is perfect for a meeting place, prior to going the movies or shopping. Woa to those whom think you can quickly be in and out in an hour! If you have the time or order a pick up, give the Bianco a go! You won't be sorry.
Pros: inexpensive, good eats, casual dining
Cons: limited parking, waiting to be seated, waiting for food

PIZZA'S GREAT, BUT!!!
by captmiller1
Oregano's pizza is great and it is a great place to hang out. However, I do have one complaint. Oregano's if your reading this, the salad and calamari are horrible. The lettuce tastes like rubber. The chicken on the chicken salad looks and tastes like sandwich meat from albertsons deli. Those calamari rings are just nasty and taste like they came from Costco. You have great pizza and the ambience of the place makes it a fun night out so why not finish the job and improve the rest of the menu?
Pros: great pizza, great service, great price
Cons: rubber lettuce, costco calamari, greasy pasta dishes

Pizzookie
by BObermiller_Citysearch
Not sure this is the best pizza in AZ, but the pizzookie and bruschetta are excellent. The Scottsdale. Tempe and downtown Phoenix locations are wildly popular -- to the extent that you sometimes have to wait an hour just to eat pizza. Order carryout on the weekends to avoid the wait. Pasta and salad portions are massive and the wait staff is incredibly casual and friendly.
Pros: Pizzookie
Cons: Crowded
