The impression left from eating at this restaurant is that it is crowded, noisy, and expensive. I didn't notice if the food was good because I was straining to hear my companion's conversation.

My wife and I often plan a drive from Prescott to Phoenix just to have an excuse to dine at Pappadeaux. Use a little self control when ordering as the portions are large. The prices are reasonable for the excellent fare that you get. The staff and management here are wonderful. We're heading there tonight! Get them oysters and gumbos ready!

The staff is incredibly nice. By far the nicest I've encountered in Phoenix. I even took my mother here while she had a layover because I was so impressed with this place. The atmosphere is incredible. I love the decor. I am not much for spicy or cajun but they still had something just for me. A chicked breast with potatoes that are out of this World. They have a butter sauce as a side with each dish that is incredible. The desserts? Nothing better. Banana pudding in a mason jar that you can take home that is awesome and a lot of very unique choices including my favorite, Creme Brulee.
Do not miss this place, especially if you have out of town guests!
Don't even try to go on a weekend night. I think the live outdoor band is a huge attraction which makes for a very long wait.
PROS: The food, the staff, the decor, the atmosphere.
CONS: The wait on weekend nights.

Pappadeaux has great, fresh seafood! They are family friendly with a great kids menu, and the atmosphere is alittle noisy but relaxed. Try their horseradish crusted halibut or the broiled salmon with alexander sauce. Their exotic drinks are yummy too, and their dessert tray is to die for! They do not take reservations, so be prepared to wait on Friday and Saturday nights!
PROS: Fresh seafood; family friendly
CONS: Do not take reservations-long wait on the weekends after 5pm

I have taken one of my best friends to Pappadeaux and I must say, we were highly impressed. The service was fast and efficient and this place has a fun atmosphere that is great for a family night out or a romantic dinner. The only downside is that Pappadeaux is a little pricey. So this is not the place to take a date to if you are on a tight budget. However the food is well worth the price.
The crab cakes makes a wonderful appetizer that is very pleasing to the palette. The crawfish combination platter is so far my favorite. The fried craw fish are crisp on the outside and tender in the inside. The craw fish etouffe bursts with succulence and spice in your mouth.
Pappadeaux has now become one of my favorite places to dine at. 5 stars!
Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Service
Cons: High price

We went there for lunch. It is not that crowed. The atmosphere was great, nicely decorated. We had French bread while waiting. We enjoyed the frog legs appetizer. By the time the entrees came, we knew we would not finish them. They were big. My seafood grills was good, but not impressive. The fish was a bit undercooked, no big deal. The shrimps and dirty rice were way too salty. That was a turned off for me. We had Creme Brulee for desert and it was nicely done. I think we will minimized entree next time.
Somehow this place remind me of Claim Jumper. Both have oversized portion. Great appetizers and desserts. If you are on a diet or try to lose weight, skip that giant entree.

I have been here a few times and i love their food, i even ate seafood and i am not a fan of ANY seafood, but the way they cooked it was soo good i could'nt even tell i was eating seafood it taste like steak, I believe it was some kind of tuna. Prices are a little high but thats expected if your going to be eating here. This is not a quiet place so its not that great to take a date here unless you like to yell your conversations. All in all i have to say this place is one of my favorite places to eat at. I also tried their alligator and as far as i'm concerned it taste like chicken with a kick.
Pros: Good Food, Friendly Staff & Parking
Cons: Loud

First of all, I'm not a big seafood eater. I was used to eating seafood that was just baked or broiled with maybe some butter on it with some salt. I had no idea that seafood could be so delicous! The fresh catch of the day has never dissapointed and the creamy sauce that they smother the fish with is out of this world! We always get the fondue to start out with and my wife loves the pasta with creamy sauce, shrimp and crawfish. They also have a large menu of deserts to satisfy even the pickiest of tastes. The ambiance is nice with a garden and fountain style coutyard and live music on the busy weekend nights. We have waited 2 hours before to get in and although that was a tad frustrating we soon forgot all about that when the fondue came out. Don't forget to bring your credit card though because it's not cheap, but the finer things in life never are!
Pros: fish specials, dirty rice, vegetables, fondue, calamari
Cons: the wait

I ate here with a group of seven people. I wasn't thrilled with the fried food... too much bread, not enough meat. Service was okay. Building itself was nice. Walked away feeling like the prices to value was a rip off. I wouldn't eat here again, though to be fair, other members of my party were more impressed (none loved it though).

Pappadeaux is the true definition of cajun food. Their moderately priced menu caters to anyone in the mood for authentic Louisiana-style cooking. The freshest seafood accompanies traditional cajun fare such as alligator, crabcakes, and crawfish. It would be best to get there as early as possible because Pappadeaux does not take reservations, although if you do have to wait, it will be well worth it!
Pros: Great Value, Good Parking

From the generous hosts to the lively atmosphere, Pappadeaux's is an all around good time. And heck, who can forget the seafood. If you're in the mood for a taste of culture from 'down unda,' but haven't yet booked that trip, then the Fried Alligator is worth a try. And if that plain ol' catfish doesn't quite liven up your palate like it used to, then a touch of Cajun will spice things up. Pappadeaux's is a great place to unwind and won't bore you to sleep. The atmosphere is as lively as their menu. So, if you're lookin' for a break away from your local Long John Silver's, and want to have a good time, reel yourself in to Pappadeaux's...it's guaranteed to beat a night of Fish n' Chips.
