Pet Safari

I can't believe the improvements being done. I visit at least once a week and always see something new and interesting. Prices are better than other reef stores I've been to, and I've been to all of them.

I moved into the area many years ago and needed to find a new pet store.I looked in the yellow pages and wrote down several store addresses.In a short time I found what I was looking for"Pet Safari".I don't like going to big (chain) stores.The second time I went into Pet Safari I took two of my grand kids.In talking with an older gentlemen in the store he referred to my grand kids as my kids.I explained to him they were my grand kids. Well the next time I walked into the store I hear "HI GRANDPA". From that day on the name stuck! Well I found out the older gentlemen was the owner of the store and his name was Rick. What do I like about Pet Safari? From Rick his daughter his grand kids and other employees, they are friendly very helpful and knowledgeable.There aren't very many establishments left around that I walk into and walk out of with a smile on my face!

I love this store! I have bought several reptiles and saltwater fish and have been very pleased. The girl that runs the shop is always very nice and makes sure I get whatever I need. I have checked prices and find they are cheaper on most things than the big chains and I prefer the mom and pop stores anyway. The store is VERY clean and cages well maintained.

PROS: great saltwater fish and have many feeders
CONS: wish they would open more stores

The store is decent, has a decent selection (although certain products have clearly been sitting around a while judging by the dust), and the prices are reasonable if not a bit more than what I typically pay at other retailers. I go out of my way to go to Pet Safari because I need frozen mice for my reptiles and they're the only place I've found on this side of town.
I had been pretty happy with the service, although it's sometimes a bit slow. But on my last trip after I mentioned buying worms at Petco the gentleman whom I assume owns the store basically berated me for shopping at Petco, and after I walked away actually came back over to me and harrassed me again saying what horrible stores Petsmart and Petco are and I shouldn't shop there because they are just out to make money and they hurt the little guys and he swore his store was cheaper. I walked around the store and found numerous items I bought at Petsmart much cheaper.
I spend a good amount of money in his store on mice on a regular basis and he has the nerve to harrass me over spending $2.75 for worms each week at Petsmart instead of driving 15 miles out of my way for them at his store. I will never shop there again after being treated like that!

PROS: They carry frozen mice
CONS: Poor customer treatment

My son was into lizards so we used to go here alot. It is a really nice and clean store. No smell like most of them. Lots of exotic fish and lizard supplies. Prices are very reasonable. Nice man runs the place and he is the only one I have ever seen working there so I don't know if anybody else works there.

I like this store but it is pretty far from where I live. I find that they have a nice selection of reptile stuff. The staff who work in here treat people with respect and are good at answering any reptile related questions that you may have. I would go in here more if it were closer to my home.

This place has a lot of fish/reptile items and we love it here! The owner is the nicest old man and he treats everyone like family in his store. The prices are usually lower than the bigger chains and it has such a mom and pop feel. We used to go in there about twice a week and we were always greeted with smiles. The quality of their pets is great, too. We bought about 5 different reptiles from them and we were always pleased. The place is clean and never smells, either.
