I can't believe this place got any bad reviews! My friends and I agree that somebody was just being unfair or it may have been the competition giving it a slam. \r

If you like indifferent, uncaring service, you have found your place. While giving me horrible service, a customer called and the rental service manager talked with the women irritably for about 2 minutes, lied to her that no computers were available and would get back to her and put her on hold. He turned to me and said "I can't deal with her anymore." I will never go here again. Worst bike shop I have ever been to.

If I could give this shop a zero, I would. Thin stock for middle price range bikes, and I've never been treated more dishonestly by a business in my life. The sales staff were friendly and knowledgeable, but the owner sold a bike I had on a 24 hour hold after only four hours, and didn't have the dignity to look me in the eye or apologize for it. I've consistently heard that although the owner keeps staff who know bikes, she is a real piece or work.

Dear Tempe Bicycle,

I am deeply disappointed in the service I received over labor day weekend. I arrived at noon on Sunday hoping to try out a few road bikes, learn what the different options are and how different bikes feel, and hoping to buy a new bike. I tried both of the two you had in stock in my size. Your salesperson and mechanics were wonderful, informative, and happy to work with me. After some discussion, I decided that although I loved the bike I had been riding, it was selling for more than I had planned on paying and I wasn't comfortable making such a significant purchase without some time to think about it. Your sales staff and I settled on a 24 hour hold, and I went home to consider the purchase. Only 4 hours later, I came back to the store hoping to take home my new bicycle. As I arrived, I saw my bike being wheeled out the door by an older couple, who had just bought it. I was told that you had sold the bike in direct disregard to the hold placed on it without even the courtesy of a phone call. When I spoke with you, you didn't make eye contact, you didn't apologize, and you didn't make any effort to remedy the situation.

I make a point of supporting small businesses. I also understand the challenges of running a small business and the necessity to move stock quickly. However, an important tenet of running a small business is to treat your customers with respect. I have made many small purchases at Tempe bikes over the three years I've lived here, and I am grateful for the knowledge I've consistently seen in your sales staff. This is one of the reasons I chose to come to you first when I was looking to make a significant purchase. Therefore, it is with deep regret that I am forced to write this review. I will no longer patronize the Tempe Bicycle shop, and will recommend alternative stores to my friends, coworkers, and the incoming students that I teach.

Best Regards,
a former customer

This place has killer bikes. They have street bikes, fixed gear, and off-road bikes all in one place. The guys in the store know their stuff. They all ride themselves.

If you love to cycle, this is the place with large
selection of bicycles. They have a lot of
the lighter weight bikes and also some good
specials on even children's bikes. Their
service on bikes is great.
