This is a great place to visit

by Anonymous

If you're looking for a really unique Southwest experience, this is it! The exhibits change a lot so there's always something new. I've also been to their big events like the Indian market and they're fabulous. Truly worth every penny of the admission price. I've visited 3-4 times in the last year or so and I've never had any trouble parking, even with the big events (they have lots of the high-rise building parking structures along central). My 4 year old loves this place, too, especially the two kids exhibits. The cafe is great and the shop has super things, especially the kids books and jewelry (for me, of course!). It's great for unique gifts, too.

Several hours of edu-tainment

by Teri S. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,240

Went here with friends and filled several hours of the day going through this extensive museum. Has everything from historical displays and artifacts to artwork both modern and ancient as well as hands on activities. Took a docent led tour though some of the exhibits which was informational, but one in which the guide's dialog seemed more versed in dealing only with children instead of the predominently adult group we happened to be in. All told, a good experience.

Unique museum about Native Americans

by Renay B. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,793

This is an absolutely amazing museum. It is definitely worth a trip to see. The museum has so many great exhibits about Native American history. Anyone who visits has to be impressed. The museum is real and open. For instance, the boarding school exhibit explained the sad experience that many native americans went through. If you are not well educated on Native American history, this is a great place to learn more. If you are already an expert, you'll enjoy the artifacts. I couldn't imagine anyone being disappointed with this museum.

PROS: Unique and accurate exhibits
CONS: Parking in Phoenix is a pain

native cultures

by Anonymous

If you have an interest in the indian native culture you will learn a lot by going to this museum. This museum is very large and is a very education place for children and adults. They often have new exibits and events so this is a place that you can go to numerous times and not get bored with it. It's around $10 to get in here, but if you are a student with an id the price is only 5 bucks. If you are native american you can get in for free! This place is definatly worth a trip you will learn a lot about the culture.

Great place but pricey for reception spot

by Helaman E. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,061

I checked this place out to possibly host my wedding reception. The grounds are gorgeous and there are lots of places on the grounds that would be suitable for a reception or full blown wedding. They rent out the whole place to you when you do it and you find out later why - you will pay an arm and a leg and no catering or anything is included. Nice setting, but if you have a budget look elsewhere.

PROS: Nice grounds
CONS: Pricey
