The San Carlos is a fantastic hotel and a piece of Phoenix history. The rooms, although old, are clean, definitely have character, and are surprisingly reasonably priced for downtown Phoenix. I had lunch at the bistro downstairs which was good. The Ghost Lounge on the first floor of the hotel was dead when I stopped in at about 8 (nothing going on in downtown Phoenix that night) but both bartenders were witty and I'd stop back just to see them if I was in the area.

The San Carlos is a very old hotel with a lot of old charm. The rooms are clean and decorated in an old glamour way. They have a very quaint pool, too. If you stay here, you need to take the ghost tour. They take you into the basement and throughout the hotel to look for spirits. We didn't see anything but the historical information was very interesting and the tour was lots of fun.
