Horrible
by Amber V.
I have had my son at the 43rd and Union Hills facility since he was 18 months old with no problems. As soon as he reached the three year old room things went down hill. He was having a difficult time napping and was bit in the back by another child. He started being taken out of the room when he would not quiet down for a nap or other issues and was sent to the front. When in the front of the daycare they would expect him to sit and not do anything. Finally one day he ran out the front door. The daycare called me and informed me that we need to find a new place to go.
I made arrangements with the owners daughter to stay for two weeks because my son had to be bused to another school from the facility. She agreed and said she would give me time. When my son was not their the following week, she decided to inform the bus driver that my son was a bad kid and not to come back and pick him up. When I spoke to her the following Monday to ask if it was okay for my son the be their for that week, she failed to mention she told the bus driver not to come back. My son went to daycare on Tuesday (I got a call from the same person whom told the bus not to come back) informed me that the bus never picked my son up. She was clueless why. She even called later that day and inquired why he was not picked up....
My son did have several issues during his last few months at the facility, but I expect honesty.

Terrible

My child attended this day care from the ages of 2 to 3. I never had a problem when he was in the 2 year old room because of one of the excellent teachers they had at the time. After she left, my son would cry every day when I dropped him off because he told me that the other teacher was mean and he didn't like her. He was absolutely terrified!
The 3 year old room was a nightmare. My sweet little boy was getting in trouble for not taking a nap. He has never been a napper, and they some how expected a 3 year old to be good and quiet while the others slept for 2 hours. He once was sent to the office for pointing to something with his middle finger. (He's almost 4 now, and still points with his middle finger). They thought he was flipping them off! As if a 3 year old knew what that was or meant!
The staff in that room were kids themselves and it seemed to me, they didn't know how to handle anything. They were completely inexperienced and immiture and I was so worried about my child, that I pulled him out of the center and resigned from my job to stay home with him.

Disappointed

I used to work at this daycare when I was in high school and I never did think they did a good job at taking care of the children. I was hired on the spot with no background check and with no previous experience with children. I was put in a room alone with 1-2 year olds, way over the maximum amount of children allowed for one caretaker. I felt very overwhelmed with all those toddlers, changing diapers and such, with no help.

This child center was always overcrowded with not enough teachers. It was not kept up well always looking dirty. They did not do enough activities with the children leaving them bored. Many times when I would drop off or pick up my child they would have them all watching TV. Also they would stick the toddlers in cribs during non sleeping hours to seperate them. There were times when I would show up and there would be toddlers just crying and crying in cribs and not during nap time either. The teachers and directors did not seem to care about communicating with my about my child.
PROS: Very inexpensive
CONS: Poor service and care provided
