Pete King Construction is a horrible place for the average employee. Favortism is the name of the game. The only people who benefit are the superintendants, foremans and office employees. Superintendants building their houses by trading company work for materials and labor, while charging all drywall, painting and PK employee labor to other jobs to pay for it. Painting/drywalling "favored" peoples houses and charging it to other jobs as well. The loans and help is only given to those higher on the echelon, while the common employees are treated like complete crap no matter how hard they work. The foreman's are mostly a joke. They have everyone on their crews do the work while they stand around doing nothing, take the credit and get the cash bonus's on their checks. The normal employee gets nothing, but bitched at to do more and do it faster. If you are not favored by any of the foremans or upper management, you get laid off when they don't need you anymore, even though you do more and better work than many employees kept. They like to keep the normal employees down and constantly worried about losing their jobs with threats of termination. Used to be an employer of large groups of illegals until legislation was passed to punish the employers. They also like to hire desperate people cheaper than scale pay out of the union hall temporarily for their busy summer season and then lay them off. Pete King is a bunch of lieing hypocrites who cut corners any way they can to make a buck on the back of their employees, so that the upper management can line their pockets with profits.
I worked for Pete King Corp. as an apprentice painter back in the early 70's and for a few years as a journeyman. I had lots of friends there and enjoyed the different jobs I got to work on. I was proud to work for a company with it's stature.
I had a personal experience with Jerry King. I needed financial help at one point when I was going through a divorce. Jerry stepped up and helped me out. He loaned me enough money to get things strightened out and I appreciated it. When I tried to repay the loan through my Supt. (Jim Tisdale) he said Jerry wouldn't hear of it. There aren't many employeers who will do that.
I did see the film on YouTube. When I saw the part about the drywallers saying they worked 60 hrs a week and made less than $4 an hour the first thing I thought of was that they were working on piece work. The film didn't mention that. If you're good at what you do then you can make money. If you're not very good then you can't. Those 60 hours would include going back and fixing mistakes to. So I understand the truth there. No one made them take the job on that basis. But I would bet that none of the other companies who were offering comments would have hired any of those guys for a union wage. It all makes sense.
I think that Pete King Corp is a good organization and those who don't aren't being completely honest in their complaints.

Pete King is a great company that has been around for years. All I see are bad reviews based on lies that the union puts out. The union is picking on Pete King and spreading lies. If you want the REAL truth go to http://www.petekingaz.com/

Pete King is a solid company that has always honored and obeyed the laws. They have gone above and beyond what is called for their employees. The ones that say they are only paid $3-4 dollars per hour are paid by piece work, so if they want more they better hustle and work out more pieces, it just shows how lazy the workers are, not the company. In an economy like this, many would be happy to work for Pete King. They have been around for over 60 years, if they are so crooked, do you think they would have been so successfull for so many years? If you are going to question anyones integrity you might want to check out youtube videos on the Carpenters Union, they are crazy~! Look up anything and everything you can find on them. That is a crooked business funded by lots of unhonest money.

I see the issue with Pete King is his private choice to not support perversion, and disabling sodomy behavior with AIDS and associated sin diseases. The criticism has nothing to do with his construction performance and habits to build a better Arizona.
When one reads the comments by customers it is not his performance, but the corrupt performance and libelous advertisements that by any other group would be vigorously opposed with court orders, and law suits. When the judges are themselves corrupt and in bed with perverts it strains justice.

A great company that as employed hundreds of people for many years. Now just because they stand for marriage between man & a women they are bad people. Most people including the President believe in marriage. UNBELIEVABLE!!! Now the unions, this is what you get with unions,we let a good company be attacked by the special interest. Does this sound like Washington. You bet it does. Next is they are racist, RIGHT!! We Americans are tired of this old fight that if we disagree we have to be racist. Give it up. This is how they work, if they can't win with the truth, you have to be a racist.Keep up the good fight Pete King we are with you. Coach K

Pete King is the best company I have ever worked for. They value and take care of their employees. Its hard to find a company like that. I am glad that they believe in the same thing I do. Marriage is only between a Man and a Women. The way god intended it to be.

Carpenters Union held an election to represent Pete King empolyees and lost. Now they are spreading lies about Pete King and wasting member funds trying to cover up their defeat.

Pros: Honest

This company is run by hypocrites. They made huge donations to the Prop 102 hate campaign. Why hypocrites? This family has made a lot of money from the valley and in NV. They have a tainted past. Liars, adulters, tax fraud, list goes on and on. As said before, many other companies who do better service without the "front". If they going to take a stand on other peoples lifes, they need to CLEAN UP at home first.
Pros: none
Cons: Hypocrites
P.k. needs to get right with carpenters time to stand up and be a area standard contractor in AZ
I am happy to see a company put money behind and support something that they believe in. It takes guts, especially with all the heat they knew they were going to take.
Company is major sponsor of amendment to constitution to discriminate against minorities. Avoid this company.
Pros: None
Cons: Haters.
In this economy, you have your choice of construction companies, and I can't imagine entrusting my business to Pete King Construction. With all the charities, food banks, and people in need of help, they've put their money toward the over $7,000,000.00 wasted on Prop 102. This wasteful and ill-considered move proves that they do not have their priorities straight, and as a customer, I can and will easily choose better.
Pros: None
Cons: Discriminatory business ethics against gay customers
Pete King Corp is listed as a major funder of Yes For Marriage, a group that advocates writing hateful discrimination into Arizona's constitution. Don't give them your money.
