Highly recommended for the thin crust and the atmosphere. The pasta, not so much. My wife loves the prickly pear margaritas, but watch out they are expensive.
They have recently raised their prices but you can still get a full (8 inch) pizza for less than $10. I think their pizza is the best thin crust in Tucson.
It's also a very nice place to talk and enjoy a night out, you don't feel rushed like in some restaurants.
Love this place. The pizza they serve here is so good but also very healthy too! You can sometimes face a wait for your food, especailly when they are really busy but you can get a drink and relax out on the patio. Pay a visit and definately order the BBQ pizza! Awesome.
Service goes above and beyond the expectations. You will love this place! Great food at great prices with a masterful oven as the center peice. I recently ate here and I can say with out a doubt it is a gemstone of Tucson. Organic foods, great pizzas and pastas w/ wines to compliment. I heard they are opening another Zona 78 on the east side of town near Sabino Canyon and Tanque Verde.
The pizza was thin crusted and flavorful and the soups very hearty! They have wonderful pricing on a very good wine list and that is without their special deals! We'll be back and spread the word!
Pros: Great pricing on wine
The pizza was pretty good. Not the best i have had around town, but in the top 5. The service was very slow. The server didnt even understrand what i ordered the first time. We will be back as we understand how it is in the industry. I hope they are better next time. We sre surprised a manager or something didnt come to our table at all.. shrug
Pros: Unique Pizza
Cons: Slow Service
I went this restaurant twice so far. For both visits, food was very fresh and tasty. The price was very reasonable for the quality, especially during the happy hours. Their services were great. The atmosphere is sophisticated and romantic. Just excellent for everything. I recommend this restaurant so much.
Pros: services, food
I don't know where these people have been eating but Zona 78 is seriously the best value for the money anywhere in town. All the dishes are super fresh and they have the best pizza in Arizona, even better than Biancos in Phoenix. The service is great, people are friendly and the food is fab.
Pros: Friendly, Comfortable, Affordable, Great Food
Cons: Small amount of seats, always busy
just tried it. Nothing I hate more than a place that charges me $13 for a sub par plate of spaghetti and m/b for $13 and I don't even get salad with it? $5 for a side salad? Ridiculous. $7 for a bowl of soup. Come on. It is not this fancy shmancy place but just an italian restaurant that can't even give you complimenary bread .
Pros: nice server
Cons: loud, no bread before meal, charge for everything you order. ice tea $3.00 come on!
I agree that Zona 78 has some great selections, but it if definitely not the best pizza. After searching for years in tucson (And we travel all over the country in search of the best pizza), we finally stumbled across the best pizza at a little place in Oro Valley called sassos. That aside Zona 78 has some great food and their service is good also.
Pros: Good selection
Cons: Pizza is lacking quit a bit.
Zona 78 has the best pizza in tucson, its thin crust and organic toppings are fabulous! I have been coming to Zona 78 for years and have never once had a bad experience. The Staff is polite, helpful, attentive and completly service oriented. The open view of the oven and kitchen creates a fun atmosphere that can be great for the family or for a first date! Another great fact about Zona is that they make their own fresh mozzarella everyday, it is included in alot of their menu items or can be added to anything, you must try it! I would personally recommend this restaurant to everyone, all you need is one visit and you will be hooked for life! It really is the place to be!
Pros: Service, Food & Atmosphere!
I have never had a bad meal here, I have ordered almost everything on the menu somethings twice. New comers start with the Antipasto or Mozzarella Tomato Salad. They make their own cheese, I didn't believe it at first either but its really good. Tuscany and Margeherita Pizzas are my favorites and my girlfriend loves the salmon.
Pros: Quality, Service, Price, and the fact that its family owned
We were seated promptly on a busy night. Service was friendly and attentive. Get a booth if you can, the chairs are not comfy.
The garlic bruschetta was very tasty, covered in their house-made fresh mozzarella. The caesar salads are *real* caesar salads with good, crispy romaine and authentic fresh dressing.
The meatballs are dreamy. Seared tuna salad, really great. (The menu says arugula, but it was actually spinach - may want to check on that with server.) Chilean sea bass was cooked so perfectly it was like heaven. The roasted vegetables are not impressive. Broccoli does not do well in an oven! Portions were good and prices also good.
We wish we had room for dessert, because the bread pudding sounded divine. Almost everyone there ordered it.
Pros: fantastic flavors, friendly servers, comfortable rest rooms
Cons: chairs are not so comfy
Really this is the best pizza in Tucson, its fun and servers are great. Doesn't cost much and the food is outstanding, don't miss it.
