Reviews for Lee Lee Oriental Supermarket

Ratings_icons What are the hrs of the store!

Clissy L.

I find it so frustrating that you see pics of this particular store inside and out but there are no store hours listed. I once went to another store only to find out they opened at 10:00 and the jewelry area ( which is what I wanted for a jade bracelet) did not open until 12:00! Now they have one in Chandler....and again no hrs listed.

Ratings_icons Great for gluten-free families

I first found Lee Lee because I married a man from India, and they have an entire section of Indian food. My sister in law just visited and said they have most of the major brands here that you find in India.Recently my daughter and husband were diagnosed with Celiac Disease. They cannot have any wheat products. Lee Lee has some nice non-wheat products. Also they have some non-wheat flours such as potato, tapioca, and rice. At other stores such as Sprouts and Whole Foods those flours are nearly $4 per package, however at Lee Lee they are under a dollar!! Wow!

Ratings_icons DO NOT buy NON food item from Lee Lee

YH T.

I have bought a water boiler from them and use it for less than 2 weeks and I am not satiesfy with the product due to some salt stain inside the water boiler. I brought into the market and they promise to send it for repair and will be back for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, they didn't call and I went to the store and check it out. After search for my item from their store, the boiler has NOT been sent back to the manifacturer. One of the worker took it out and told me that this is due to the salt contain in the water in Arizona state and is not their problem. There is no instruction say that I can't use normal water to boil the water.
First, they never send it back ( without any apology ) and blame it on me for not using it correctly. I demand a refund and they told me any NON food item can ONLY be refunded IF it has NOT been used.
How can you know or satisfy with the product if you don't even use it at the first place?
They have fresh food but DO NOT buy any NON food item from them. They will not allow you to return the item if u have try it!!

Ratings_icons Sara d., please learn english!

Tina S.

This store if WONDERFUL! The variety is amazing, and the prices are pretty darn good. As for the people who work there and their lack of English skills, I've found that they try and there is at lease one person I've seen make improvements in her English since I've started working there; not something you see often here in AZ.
Sara d., please learn how to use English yourself before you get high and mighty. Punctuation is your friend - learn to use it or you are the pot calling the kettle black!
I will continue to be a customer, and encourage anyone to check out something new.

What a great place it has anything for your Oriental taste, and for the people that made the remarks poor service due to poor English, sounds like you need to find another place to shop.Maybe the reason it is such a great store for Oriental needs is because it is ran by Orientals, what a very sorry excuse for customer service. Please keep the store the same as it is

Ratings_icons What a great store!!!

A new Lee Lee's just opened up near my house at 75th Ave & Cactus Rd. in Peoria so I finally went in and checked it out. What a wonderful store!!! I was so surprised at the huge selection of fish, meats, fruits and veggies. I'm caucasion and my boyfriend is Indian and they had all his foods there too. No more trips to the Indian grocer. They have aisle's labelled with foods from different regions of the world. I've never seen such a large selection of fresh fish. I bought some steaks as their meat counter and they were the best I've had in a long time. They have a huge crew of butchers - something you don't see much of anymore at the regular grocery stores. This was a great surprise.

Ratings_icons poor customer service!

This market has great products, but the only setback is the people who work there. They could barely help you because of their lack of English language skills. If you are trying to ask a question with more than 10 words in it, forget about asking anyone working there. I could not even communicate with the cashier because she does not speak English. Is Lee Lee going to hire people who could communicate in English other than Vietnamese? It's very frustrating!!!!

Ratings_icons Excellent Asian market

Janice W.

Well, in this desert of a city, it's not like we have a large selection of Asian markets as West- and East Coast cities enjoy. Lee Lee's is as good as they come with all the basics and then some. The Asian vegetables are fresh and stocked regularly. The aisles are bright and clean and the lines at the check-outs are always keep under control by the staff and management. The co-owners take turns being present at the store and are always friendly, courteous and helpful to their customers. Highly recommend for all!

I really like this market the prices aren't bad and my vegatables are fresh. i wonder if their organic not sure if this is a franchise store. what was difficult for me was im not asian and i couldn't understand the their signs are written in asian language. they should also write in english what the vegetables are. I think they would get more people. and if they expananded on their staff to help you. i couldn't communicate with the cashier she didn't speak english.

Ratings_icons Best asian grocery in the area

Anonymous P. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 7,269

Massive selection of ingredients for asian cuisine, as well as imported packaged foods and other household items. When we're looking for the obscure, we know to check her first. At times the store has been questionable as far as cleanliness in concerned, but nothing unhygenic. Just not as sparkling clean as your typical grocery store. Cheapest place in town to get your stock-up items like rice and beans.

Ratings_icons Quality produce

They are the best people to go for fresh chicken, meat, seafood and produce. They have absolutely the largest collection of seafood and produce at very reasonable prices. You can also get a variety of oriental sauces, seasoning and ready to eat food. Prices are very reasonable and the quality high

Ratings_icons Absolutely fresh chicken and prawns

Burad N. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 10,078

This supermarket boasts of the most fresh Chicken and prawns in the Phoenix area. They have an amazing array of vegetables and meat that are not found elsewhere at very affordable prices. They are the only place to get your supply of oriental vegetables like mint, lotus roots and all oriental herbs. For 90 dollars they give you $100 worth of coupon to spend at the store which lets you save 10% on already reduced prices.

PROS: Variety, Fresh produce, Affordable

Ratings_icons Too Bad The Only Nearby Asian MArket

Ivan Z. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 12,757

It's bigger than 99 ranch market with comparable variety, but the place is not very organized and sometimes it's hard to find someone to help you out. Line is long and slow that makes me frustrated. But the only nearby place to buy asian food. But there's good quantity of goods.

Ratings_icons Fantastic Place for Asian Food

Anonymous

The appeal of this place is quite simple: it has almost any kind of Asian food or ingredient you could wish for. If you're frustrated with your local chain market only having a tube of wasabi and one kind of soy sauce in their "oriental foods" section, come to Lee Lee: there are no less than ten brands and types of soy sauce there. And, of course, there's more than that: Japanese cookies and Vietnamese fish sauce and Korean marinades and so on.

If you're looking for fresh produce, however, look elsewhere: the greens here are appealing because they're cheaper than they would be in a chain supermarket, but none of the greens I've bought from Lee Lee taste very fresh at all.

Ratings_icons Excellent Ethnic grocery store

Rajesh V. | insider Insider | Rank: 26,629

You can find fresh oriental/indian vegetables and grocery here. Prices are probably the best you could find in the Phoenix area. You could also exchange $90 for $100 worth store coupons, and later pay the coupons at the checkout counter. Thus you could save 11% of your purchases...
