I recently moved into a new home and was refferred to Spencer's to furnish it. After going to Best Buy, Lowes, and Home Depot I stopped into the Spencer's in Downtown Mesa. After bad expeiriences at Lowes and Home Depot and an okay experience at Best Buy the Sales person at Spencer's was quite a reward! Much more knowlegable than the other stores and they go out of their way to earn your business. The sales guy pulled up everyone elses prices online and made sure to beat them all. He spent almost 2 hours with me and was great..... The delivery/install went smoothly although I wish it would have had a more specific delivery time. The delivery crew worked quickly and was carefull while manuvering through my home. I will definetley reffer others to shop here and will be back again when I need something. Thanks!

We purchased an expensive washer and dryer from Spencer's because of their promised rebate. My husband immediately sent in the rebate forms and documentation the salesman gave us. There was no response. After many letters and calls, Spencers still did not pay the rebate. Their total lack of integrity was amazing to us. They kept that $200, but lost a good customer and their good name. They are not trustworthy.

Great service. I have shopped at Spencer's for years. My family has shopped there for years. My wife wanted to shop elsewhere to check prices/models to be "sure" we were getting the best deal. I shopped the internet for sale prices on a bottom freezer frigs .I tried to call 3 major retail stores,1st one could not even switch me to correct dept after aprx 10 mins being put on hold.The 2nd company gave a 800 phone number to calf where their corp center is, the phone just kept ringing and ringing after about 3 to 4 mins someone asked can i help you.I siad yes i am trying to reach your store in tempe az.She said hold just a min and then switched me to the store in tempe another 5 to 6 mins waiting for someone to pick up.The answer i got from this person sorry wrong dept please hold.That was it,i was done with the big super stores with the worst service before the sale.I called a friend and she refered me to SPENCERS TV & APPLIANCE IN MESA.I called and spoke to a real person who took the time to answer all my questions.I drove down to Spencers in mesa i asked for Richie who helped me on the phone, we looked at 3 different bottom freezer frigs.I purchased the GE profile stainless 3 door bottom freezer.Spencers delivered the next day,called us moring of delivery with a 2 hr time window.The driver was on time and very nice showed us the settings it should be on tested the water from the door.He gave us some simple instructions and was done in about 15 to 20 mins.Great service from the phone call to the end when the frig was delivered.The salesperson Richie even called the next day to see how everything was going and if we had any questions about the frig.When was the last time you got that service from a appliance store.He told us again Spencers is family owned and operated by the same family for 37 years.If you need and appliance or tv go to Spencers.We will be back again.We love our new frig.Thanks Spencers

I called to discuss a problem with a manager from the Mesa store. Rick answered the phone. He was extremely rude and condescending. I was trying to explain the issue and he cut me off with an analogy about a car warranty. I told him I understood how a warranty works and didn't need the stupid analogy. I explained to him that customer service in this economy is important. He hung up on me. I called back and asked him if he hung up on me. He admitted he had. I told him that was very unprofessional to hang up on a customer who hadn't raised their voice, cursed or even been rude to him. I told him that nothing changed except he didn't want to hear what I had to say. I told him that was no way to treat a customer. He said you are no longer a customer. I asked to speak to his manager or the owner of the company and he refused to give me the information. He refused multiple times to answer and then said he was hanging up because this was a silly conversation. I called the Gilbert store and the nice manager who answered that phone explained that Rick is in fact the owner. Really sad because if he is the owner that attitude is obviously acceptable in this organization.

We really like this store. We found it very reasonable for the price, compared to the other stores we've looked at. We do our research and so far we like what we see. We bought our TV, washer and dryer and are happy with them.
The workers are friendly. We recommend them.

Very dissapointed in their prices. Went in looking to find a dishwasher, just a simple inexpensive dishwasher. Someone else had recommended them, but I could not believe how expensive they were. I was able to find a GE dishwasher almost 100.00 cheaper at Sears.

We needed appliance for a new (empty) home, and a friend recommended talking to Lenny at Spencers. We did our homework at the usual big chains, and then went to Spencers. Lenny was not there, but Dave was unbelievable! He was helpful, informed, patient, friendly, and NOT overpowering - he did not pressurize us to buy anything - what a pleasure! From there on it was smooth sailing - delivery was as expected. And yes, the prices were the best.

I had problems with the color on my big screen SONY hdtv.
They came out right away and fixed it no questions asked. Great price also.

I have used Spencer's many times over the past 15 years and will continue to use them in the future. I even had them deliver all of my appliances to my cabin in the White Mountains. My contractor received a discount from them also.

Advertisement states Spencers TV & Appliance offers "Buy or Rent To Own-see inside for details". Upon opening the ad, in the lower right-side it states, "NO CREDIT SLOW CREDIT BAD CREDIT--RENT TO OWN! FREE 1ST & LAST MONTH PAYMENT *The transaction advertised is an 18 month rental purchase agreement. The consumer requires no ownership rights unless the total amount necessary to to acquire ownership is paid."I called the store located on 43rd Ave and spoke to someone named Julio. I asked how does their rent-to-own program work, he replied, "Fill out an application, we need to verify you have a job and that we can get a hold of you." I said, "That's it, nothing else?" He replied, "Oh yeah, you have to pay your first payment." I said, "Your ad says 1st & last month's payments are free." He said, "Bring the ad in with you." I said, "Thank you", and the call ended. Later that same day, I went to the store, found the refrigerator I wanted, filled out the application, and the salesman helping me told me the Rental Manager was not in but that he would give him the application to process in the morning.I received a call from someone named Kerry, who represented himself to be the Rental Manager from Spencers. He proceeded to inform me my credit was too bad and that they weren't going to be able to help me. I quoted to him what the ad said and what I had been told over the telephone. He said, "I'm sorry if you have been misled, but we cannot help you. There are several other rent-to-own stores in town that don't run credit, maybe you should go there." I told him this was false advertising and why did they run credit anyway. He said, "Right above your signature on the application is the authorization to pull credit." I then said, "the application says that I authorize the release of information from third parties listed on the application, and nowhere does it state that I authorize them to access a credit report." He told me the third party thing was the authorization, trying to bluff his way out. I then asked to speak with his manager. He refused. He kept telling me he can help me with whatever questions I have. I said then tell me why, specifically, you are denying me. He could not produce anything specific. I again asked for his manager, he told me his name was Roger but that he wasn't in the store right then. He said he would have him call me. I immediately called the store back and asked for Roger. Imagine my surprise when I was told "just a minute". I then told Roger the scenario, he said he would review the information and call me back in about 15 minutes. Almost 3 hours later, Roger called me back and said the same thing, "I'm sorry, but we are not going to be able to help you out with this." Again, I asked specifically why. He told me, "they are forbidden to discuss such things but that I could see for myself on the credit report, and then to have a nice day." They never told me which bureau they pulled, nor have they provided any written notice.I called Rick Biederbeck, the owner, the next day. This name was not easy to get, no one at any of the stores wanted to provide it to me, I actually got his name from the BBB website. It is a well-known fact that when a customer has a good experience, very few people hear about it; conversely, a person with a bad experience will generally tell 10 people, who each tell 10 more people, etc. The snowball effect can be very unpleasant for a business. In my opinion, this company has no business being in business and should be shut down to protect all consumers from suffering the bad-faith principles of a shyster.

The place is a little crammed, but they have a good selection and the prices are discounted from places like Sears and Home Depot. Their sales staff is knowledgeable and I did not feel pressured into making a purchase.

As others have mentioned they do have the best prices around and will price match other stores. However they aren't always very honest. We ended up with the old model washer/dryer because they said they had the "newest one out there." Well, it isn't and of course there is no way to prove it. We didn't find out until we were walking through Lowe's and saw the new one and realized ours didn't have the same features. So be careful!!!

When I went in here with a friend I was rather impressed with the service in here. They really work with customers to get the products they want. Most people dont have the money to just shell out on expensive purchases so payment options are a plus in here. I would return to this store if I was in need of appliances for myself.

I am very pleased with spencers tv& appliance. They really know how to take care of the customer. They did everything possible to help me to get a washer and dryer for my home as I really needed one. They worked out all the payments and everything.
