Chips and Root Beer

I greatly enjoyed Sonora's root beer during my first visit, but was greatly disappointed on my second. They changed the root beer to a diet version, only available with Splenda, thus ruining the sweet, smooth taste. The homemade chips were just as tasty, but washing them down with a 2nd-rate drink, not so much fun. Now if you prefer diet drinks, you might enjoy the root beer. However, I prefer my sweetener nature-made, therefore their root beer is no longer in my list of favorite cravings.

DO sit on the patio and enjoy a nice evening at this pub that feels homey and cozy place. It's absolutely awesome that this place brews its own beers, which are a must-try. Get a burger- or even the kobe beef burger if you want to get fancy- and you will have a very satisfying and comfortable night.

Great fish & chips and Kobe beef burgers!
by bahoogina
One of our circle of friend's favorite places to eat. My favorite for fish & chips, seasonal brews and Kobe beef burgers.
Pros: Beer battered halibut, homemade beer mustard rocks
Cons: Would like a little more outdoor seating

I hope there is another Sonora Brewhouse
by Dav John
Sonora Brewhouse on 322 E Camelback sold their properties in 2004. The property is currently owned by SunUp Brewing Company. There's also a 3601 N 36th Ave address, and a location in Scottsdale near Frank LLoyd Wright Blvd. Which one is the right one? Is there a right one? I'll leave that to you.
Cons: It closed in 2004

Good Ales!!!

Two time visitor within 24 hours, 11/17 & 18 /06.
First was for brew....outstanding! the Heffe, the Trooper IPA & the Porter on cask were all excellent.
I did not eat upon this visit but from what I saw, the servings were well presented and generous.
The Staff was very friendly.
The following day I went back for lunch. Same quality service, same quality brews and the food was outstanding!
Pros: Brews & Food
Cons: Could be larger
