We have 8 mastiffs (breeders) and both my husband and I have much experience with dogs. He not only handles the rescue greyhounds but also the Phoenix Police canines (german shepards). But don't think that doesn't mean he can handle the little guys, I've seen plenty of lap breeds as well as cats in there. The no appointment aspect is awesome. You wait less time than if you had an appointment at most vets, I don't know why more aren't doing it. So much more efficient. Prices are low in comparison to experience/talent and he is in a low rent district which enables him to keep expenses down. He does not push for unnecessary tests and will tell you outright you can spend alot of money testing or we can treat for what he feels sure the problem is. He has never been wrong thus far and we go there often. We recommend him to all our puppy buyers also. I dread the day he retires! So much knowledge and experience in that man's head.

Dr. Yocham is efficient and knows his stuff. He is known regionally for his understanding and wisdom with greyhounds in particular; if you have sighthounds and you're in Phoenix metro, he's the "go to" guy for your pets.

I have always been concerned about the "no appointment" policy at the clinic, but after multiple visits I find that there is less of a delay with Dr. Yocham than when I'm on time to see my local vet- one that happens to be much closer, the only reason I use them instead for routine matters.

My local vet quoted me $550-650 for a procedure that required an overnight stay. I took him in to see Dr. Yocham for a second opinion; he charged $90 and did the required work while I waited. No regrets.

My dog was sick and I needed to make a quick trip to the vet. I did a google search and found SouthSide. I really got lucky with this clinic. When I arrived I expected to wait in the waiting room for 20-30 min and then in exam room for another 20 min or so. I was in and out in about 30 min total including an x-ray and blood work. I do recommend this vet!

I HAVE BEEN TAKING MY PETS TO SOUTHSIDE SINCE 1980. THEY ARE THE THE BEST IN TOWN. THEIR TRUST, HONESTY AND ANIMAL CARE IS BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEIR SERVICES.

My father is a veterinarian in Ohio, so I like to think I have some experience to judge the quality of a vet. We've been going here for three years with our dog and cat, including one nasty spell with Erlichia with our dog, as well as a small eye tumor. I've been very impressed with Dr. Yoakam. He's very good with both people and the pets, and experienced enough that he's very good about getting your animal the care they need without subjecting them to a lot of unnecessary tests. He also has excellent staff, both in the front office and among his vet techs. Prices are generally fair. The only minor critique is that they do not offer appointments for exams, only surgeries. This can be convenient, but also means that sometimes you may have to wait, especially on a Saturday. Weekdays this has rarely been a problem. My advice is to arrive early in the morning if time is a factor.

i love this animal hospital because they are so good with animals. they welcome all animals and they are well trained and experienced.their prices are always very good.the staff is very friendly and helpful when it comes to answering all your questions.i like the attention to detail they give me here.

every time i took my dogs to this vet i loved the care that they gave my animals . they know what they are doing and they love it. they are very highly trained and very gentle when it comes to handling animals. the doctors are always telling you whats going on so u are not confused.excellent animal care for affordable rates.

If your dog likes your vet, you've got a good vet. All my dogs love the people here from office staff to the vets. They never leave you sitting out in the waiting room very long and they take really good care of your pet. The prices are on par with most vets in the area.
