I read these reviews after shopping at Whitfill nursery today and I was astonished the reviewers were speaking of the same place! I walked in unshaven, wearing flip-flops and extremely casual clothing and was offered assistance by two employees right away.The gentleman that helped me was very knowledgeable of the various trees and informed me of the current sale offers and prices of delivery, etc. He even drove me around the property in a golf cart to save time! I walked out saving over $400 compared to what I would have spent at another large Valley nursery chain. I highly recommend this nursery for their value-added service and prices!

What reviewers say about how you dress (in this upscale, quasi Arcadia neighborhood), and how you look is right on. Not for hoi polloi. However, if you know what you want and don't ask too many questions requiring actual botanical knowledge on the part of staff, you can find what you want, and you'll pay a little premium. They are snooty. But so is Baker Nurseries not far away on 40th St.
All that said, we're lucky Whitfill is still there in this prime location, adjacent to Safeway, Washington Mutual and Cox. Not a bad place if you nothing better to do on a lazy Weekend afternoon.

I did not like the collection at all. I felt I might have better collection in my house than what they had. Also they did not look fresh and many seemed wilted already. I did not have the guts to buy them for the fear of them dying out. I did not want to watse money and then feel bad when a plant dies. Surprisingly the staff did not seem to bother about the expressions of the customers and were fine even if many returned empty-handed.

I would not reccomend this place unless you go in wearing your best and looking like you have money. it is hard to get help here, but those that are dressed like they have a buck are assisted immediatly, this place is in a good location but they dont offer anything that you cant get elsewhere, and you can definitly get better service elsewhere.

this nursery is in a nice neighborhood (alot of soccer moms) if you are not dressed a certain way, it is hard to get help here. Th elady running this is very short with you when you try to ask her questions, she is always on the phone when ringing people up. I think they need to hire some help. This is in a great location, and that is why they have the business. It is not because there is anything special here.
