I drive by this place everyday to and from work and finally stopped in last Friday. It was awesome. The staff were friendly and warm, the music was awesome, the food was amazing. I am going to make this on my top places to eat from now on. (hello new team dinner spot!)

I am a watiress at Amano and I do not feel like our service is slow. We are a family restaraunt and we want our guests to feel at home so we take our time and talk with them. This is not a place to go if you want to eat on the run. It is a fun place to enjoy your food and wine. Some might take that as slow, but when people spend a while at a restaraunt enjoying their food and wine, it must be a good thing!

This is a fabulous restaurant plunked down in a place you would never believe such a good restaurant to be! They have wonderful Italian food and fabulous salads. The pasta and pizza dishes are all wonderful! The staff can be a little slow, but this tiny little place is worth every penny you spend at it! You won't be disappointed!

PROS: Wonderful Italian Food! Tasty!
CONS: Slow Service sometimes,

I pass Amano's everyday on my way to work and on my step daughters birthday she wanted pizza, it was a saturday so we wanted to avoid the peter pippers and such so we gave Amano's a try. Now when we walked in I was immediatly charmed by the place. It is tiny but so gorgeous. I beg to worry when I looked at the menu then looked at my newly six year old daughter, it was her birthday and I didn't think she'd touch any of the food, if your a parent or have spent any time with young kids you understand my concern. However after removing the tomato from her margarhita pizza ( i think that is what it was called) she dug in and only left a slice left over. I love this place it is my new favorite and I am taking my grandfather there this weekend for his birthday. The prices seem a little steep until you get your food and realize you have enough for lunch the next day if you get one of the pizzas that isn't the case but their pasta is mouth watering. Wonderful plafe service and food. The staff was soo sweet to my little girl she actually wants to go back!!!

Pros: Atmosphere,Food, service and seated right away

Cons: not good for dining in large groups(to bad i want to take everyone i know)

Lovely place..obviously family run with very tasty food made with fresh ingredients and imagination. Superb wine list, truly friendly staff, nicely lit, romantic ambience - all in an attractive brick building. Reasonable prices for the quality...we spent 45.00 for a shared starter, 2 dinners and 2 glasses of good chianti. Too full to try the deserts, but will make room next time..heard some ooohing and aaahing from the next table.

Pros: price, quality, service, ambience

Cons: a litle tricky to find the turn off..south side of baseline between 15th & 16th.

If you love Italian food, this is a quaint but romantic spot located in south Phoenix. It's worth the drive!

The restaurant is housed in a little brick building on the south side of the street. Ive eaten here once and loved every bite. I ate the pizza with Italian sausage, fennel, roasted red pepper and cheese. I even had the chance to talk with the owners for a long time about the restaurant's history and future goals. I've never had that kind of down-home experience in a restaurant before. I'd definitely recommend that everyone try Amano's at least once! The staff makes you feel like family and even the music is great!

The dinner was not expensive at all! I think I spent less than $35 for me and my date! I had enough money left over to call my mama and tell her that I was in love! \

Pros: Great food, great wine, great ambience - loved the music

Cons: parking
