Small, quick, and excellent service. The crunch rolls are amazing.
I recently visited town, and I went to 3 Sushi restaurants. Ra Sushi (Dos Lagos), and Zip Fusion Sushi (Crossings at Cajalco). Hands down the food at Kawa is the best. Modern Sushi/Fusion sushi is meh
Kawa will be the first and best Sushi restaurant I have been to.

I have been going to Sushi Kawa for over 5 years and have a very clear way to express my enthusiasm for their fare: There is no other restaurant (sushi or not) that I have taken so many friends and business acquaintances to. I simply think everyone should try this restaurant if they are sushi fans. They have very creative rolls, great prices, a great ambiance and their fish is ALWAYS fresh. They also don't rest on their menu. Other sushi restaurants I enjoy have the same selection that they have had forever, but Sushi Kawa has been expanding their selection ever since I first went there. It is always enjoyable and again, I highly recommend it.

I loved the food at Sushi Kawa! I tried the tempura and found it nicely battered and well-cooked. The various types of sushi I ordered were tasty. I especially liked the tiger sushi and the crunchy sushi, which are creations of the owner. You won't find those anywhere else, and there are others of his creation that I didn't try. Everything was very fresh. The prices were moderate for s sushi restaurant, so I think the value is excellent. This was my first time there, and I noticed many folks coming in who were greeted - and greeted the servers - as what appeared to be regular customers. I think repeat business by happy diners is a good sign. Since I was visiting from out of town, it may be a while before I return there; but I know I will if I'm in the area, because I enjoyed everything I ate.

There are a lot of places serving sushi out there nowadays, but most of it is generic, pre-packaged, and just passable. At Sushi Kawa, however, it is all hand made with loving care and great skill. If you have never had "real" sushi before, I highly recommend going to Sushi Kawa to learn what it is all really about. I warn you though, after having the sushi there, you will only be able to look at the generic pre-packaged sushi with disdain from then on out. The menu is huge, and the prices a bit high, but you definitely get what you pay for. The place is family owned and operated, and everyone makes you feel like part of the family. There is more than just sushi, if for some reason you want something else, like udon soup and the likes, all of which is equally as good and flavorful as the sushi, but it is called Sushi Kawa for a reason.
PROS: Lots and lots of shushi and more. All of it is delicious.
CONS: Everything is hand made to order, so it takes awhile. Pricey, too.
