Reviews for Xochimilco Cafe

Ratings_icons Xochimilco Cafe is my favorite restuaruant.

This is the best Mexican restaurant in town. The service is fine, and although the prices are a little bit higher than most places, it's totally worth it. The portions are HUGE and delicious. Authentic food with all the warm home made tortillas you want.

Ratings_icons Not So Great

Katelyn J. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 7,250

The food is mediocre. The service is terrible. The prices are the only semi-decent thing the place has. We once went there and did not even get our drink order taken for 20 minutes.

Ratings_icons Delicious Mexican Standards At Bargain Prices

Casey S. | insider Insider | Rank: 15,505

Xochi's is a favorite late night eatery in downtown Stockton. Unfortunately this isn't the safest part of down for late night munchies.

The standard, storefront eatery, with Azetec Warror and Maiden velvet paintings and calendar artwork, has booths and small formica tables scattered about a smallish room.

The standard Mexican food is the play, with the usual combination plates and platas of Chili Verde, Carne Asada and the like.

The refried beans with melted cheese and Mexican rice are bland, filling and very tasty. The enchiladas are well seasoned and highly recommended, as are the tacos, carnitas and tostada plates.

The prices are rock bottom and the service is friendly and fast. Recommended, but only if you are with a group, or go during day light hours.

PROS: Tasty food, Bargain Prices, Clean as a whistle
CONS: Scary neighborhood after darj, Lots of street people always
