My favorite Chinese restaurant in the peninsula. When at their best, they are inventive and flavors subtle. Of course, several of their creative specials fail, but I like being surprised from time to time with dishes I have never had before.

I'm not a dim sum expert, but even i know that if a variety of good food comes around frequently, it should get a good review. Theres a lot of seats which means that there is quite a bit of noise, but there isnt much wait which is good seeing as how most dim sum places waits go up to above half an hour easily.

Conclusion: Its a good place for dimsum if you don't mind having to raise your voice a bit, but then again, what dim sum place do you not have to raise ur voice

It's been around for a while and always rivals the other Chinese restaurants along the strip of El Camino in Millbrae. They offer other dishes aside from just seafood, so I'd check em out.

We don't like to wait for restaurants and for this restaurant you have to get there by 10:30am on weekends to get a seat without waiting. It's an average to small restaurant by chinese restaurant standards. I do really like their dim sum (not as good in my opinion as Pan Tao in Sunnyvale). They have an interesting dish I haven't seen at other dim sum places. It is bbq pork (ribs, I think), served over baked beans. Sort of a fusion of dim sum and american bbq. Anyways, it is tasty. I usually go for the steamed items, and theirs are all pretty good. They also have a chicken shu mai, which is fun to try.

Pros: Well, big parking lot on the side

Cons: don't know how to be a "Dim Sum" place

Fook Yuen is by far the best dim sum place in the Bay Area that I know of. If you want impeccable service, go to Tommy Toy's. Otherwise you best grin and bear chinese restaurant service in general. The reason you go to Fook Yuen is for

we had a horrible experience with service 2 years ago. the waiter took down the order, repeated it to us AND got it wrong. They also refused to give us our money back for that dish. So, 2 years later, figured maybe they'd improve. Went

For all of you who complain about the service at dim sum restaurants, realize one thing: it's all about the FOOD! Dim sum restaurants are notorious for bad service and Fook Yuen is no exception. Their food is the best in the Bay Area.

Fook Yuen's food is ok, but whatever quality is in their food is offset by their horrible service. They're imposing (example: when we didn't order any soup to start our meal, the waitress actually got the manager to ask us "Are you sure

I went there for dim sum with ONE OTHER friend a week ago. While we were eating our dim sum, they laid a plate of baby suckling pig on the table and said suckling pigs are a part of dim sum menu. The portion seemed extremely generous but

This is by far the best Chinese restaurant in the Bay Area. Great food-- dinner and Dim Sum. Service is marginal-- but no different from other Chinese retaurants around town. Would recommend going early for Dim Sum as things do fill up

I've been here many times over the years and it's been the same horrific service -- good thing their dim sum is so fresh and tasty that it negates the rudeness of the staff. Try anything resembling a dumpling (especially w/scallops) and
