Oak Creek Golf Course is an enjoyable golf course in Irvine that's open to the public and has reasonable rates. I also like this course because there's less traffic and waiting.

I played this course during a recent trip to LA. The greens were in wonderful condition but the fairways were riddled with weeds and seemed to have a fungus problem. The course played very well. The par 3s were long but reachable. The bunkers were fluffy and hard to out. Overall the course was beautiful and challenging and worth the green fee.

I haven't played golf here, but the cafe is open to the public so I have dined here several times for lunch. The cafe is somewhat small but doesn't feel crowded. The food is very good although the menu isn't extensive, and the service is top-notch. I especially like having a place to go that's away from the hustle and bustle of the malls where most Irvine restaurants can befound -- this location allows you to relax.

I make tee times every other month at Oak Creek and would suggest that they improve their handling of inbound calls - make the call more friendly and less condescending. The golf course would be much more appealing.

Oak Creek Golf Club is not for everyone. I can't honestly say I've played the full 18 holes but I did hit some balls at the driving range. The balls weren't cheap and from what I've read, the green fees are insane ($85+). You can enjoy their clubhouse and dine with the rich or receive lessons from professionals at the course. The entire course is par 71 and the distance of the course is about 6800 (give or take).

If you're a beginner, I would strongly recommend against playing here
