A-Chau Video Movie Rental

The owners of this business would not allow me to ENTER their establishment because I am not Chinese. Her words to me and my 6year old nephew were, this is for Chinese people only. I then asked if she was honestly not letting me in because I am not Chinese and she said Chinese onlyas she physically blocked the entrance. I explained that I knew this video store was an Asian focused video store. When I lived in the neighborhood I came here 3-4 times a week. On this day I came from Castro Valley looking for a movie, I was sure they had as I use to rent it from them. SHe then told me I had to be a member..haa haa their is no membership for this store. I had a friend who is also African American go by and see if they had the same experience. They were told Vietnemese only and then the door was shut and locked. As a n Asian customer stood outside waiting to return a movie, she peered out unwilling to re-open while we were present. We then had another friend go and see if they could get in and were met with the same response.We then told a merchant nearby what happened and he said he has heard this from many in the area. I have called the local NAACP and will file a formal complaint of discrimination through the city, alert the better business bureau and see this alllll the way to the end. DO not give this store any business!
