Langers is sooo good. The burgers are out of this world. I loved how the gring the meat right there in the store. The meat was fresh and juicy. I suggest this to anyone looking to try a fresh burger!

Ratings_icons Amazing.

This place is genius. Hand carved pastrami and corned beef served on the most incredible bread in the world. Don't leave without at least 2 loaves for the freezer. No, the sandwich isn't insanely huge like some other delis serve, but how big is your stomach anyway? The biggest surprise is that the french fries, which you probably wouldn't think of ordering at a deli, are wonderful too. While there, don't miss the wonderful paintings on the back wall. It's a convenient hop on the MTA Red Line from downtown if you work there. May it survive forever.

PROS: When God sends out for a pastrami sandwich, He calls Langers.
CONS: Funky location, not open for dinner.

Ratings_icons Food sux and too expensive

I have been to Langers twice. Both times I had pastrami sandwitches with a big disappointment. Bread was hard and the amount of meat was tiny.

I know this place used to be popular but the nostalgia is not worth for me to go there.

Be carefull, there are full of violent drug users, gangs, people selling drugs all around the place in a broad daylight.

Ratings_icons Best Pastrami Sandwich in the World

Steven P. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,012

It's pretty bold of me to say Langer's serves the best pastrami sandwich in the world, but having eating at the best of them (Carnegie Deli, Stage Deli, etc, etc, etc), I can attest to the fact that this is indeed the best. It's not exactly the easiest restaurant to get to, or the most glamorous, as it is situated near downtown Los Angeles near MacArthur Park. There is a small parking lot nearby and they close at 3 pm. But it is well worth the trip. Although they serve plenty of standard deli fare, I've never tried any of it as I'm not wasting a trip to Langer's on anything else. The pastrami comes completely lean and fatless. The rye bread is "double baked," as they say and the effect is staggeringly good. Get a side of Russian Dressing on the side and you'll be in deli heaven. Try Langer's for a pastrami sandwich unlike any other you've tried.
