Great and getting even better!
by Courtney C.
The newly remodeled The Monte Cristo is ever so lush and decadent. Supremely elegant with lots dark wood and of red velvet it makes you feel as though transported to another time. The Monte Cristo is the Sunday nite home to the gloriously Gothic 'Malediction Society'. My most favorite club ever in Los Angeles.
Look for a FAR more upscale crowd at the Monte Cristo on Saturday Nights starting in January as the Monte Cristo goes from Hip Hop to 80s with 'That Damn 80s Club'. DJ Miss L spins 80s New wave, Pop, Punk and and whatever other weirdness she can dig up from the days before mp3s.
'That Damn 80s Club' promises wildly excessive and creative events and themed parties that will take clubbing to whole new level. I'm really looking forward to some of the upcoming events that sadly the promoter won't allow me to divulge at this time. All I can say is if he pulls them off - Saturday may supercede Sunday as my most favorite Club!

Gorgeous interior with medieval decor and a decent lounge area. The location is distasteful, but the owner has been sharp enough to keep the venue running. Good business sense...but the quality of the events there is questionable these days.

Okay I have been to this club a number of times and I probably wouldnt recommend this club unless you wanna hang out with gang members or you like hanging out with people that like to be loud and quite rude.
It is like $10 cover if you call the club like the day of and put your name on a "guest list" but you have to be there before 10 p.m. After 10 p.m you must pay a $20 cover. So after getting there and walking up like 15,000 stairs, you walk into a small dark club. They have an outside patio, which is okay but it seems just to be for those who smoke and we aint just talking cigarettes.
Drinks are so expensive just like every club, for a Goose and Cranberry expect to pay $15...even a bottle of water is $5.
The womens rest room is so so small!
