4 Stars: Shopping!! (by Jody F.)

Horton Plaza is a great outdoor mall in the center of downtown San Diego. They have a wide variety of stores and you can always find what you are looking for.

1 Stars: They charge a large fee for everything! (by Beth F.)

I haven't even stayed there yet and I already hate this place. I can't get my money back, because once you reserve the room, they immediately charge you a lot if you cancel. They have already charged my credit card for over a thousand dollars and I won't even be staying there until a week after they put the charge on my credit card. So it is $1051.00 for 6 nights. In addition to that, in order to park at the hotel it will be $174.00. They aren't any little refrigerators in the rooms. You don't know what room you'll be in until you get there. I asked over the phone and the person, who I had a hard time understanding, said it will depend on what's available when you get here. So they already have my money, but they can't tell me what room I'm in? I thought that if I stayed at a nice hotel, I would be treated nicely, boy was I wrong!
This hotel should be shut down for running the scams their running. "We'll charge you a huge amount of money and give you nothing for it." Also if you want a massage it's $145.00 for 55 minutes!!!!
Unless you want to burn your money, don't stay here.

4 Stars: Westin (by Kailey R.)

The rooms are very large and we were able to fit tons of us in there. They do add on extra charges to the room, so be careful to look over your bill. Also, there is no parking, only valet, which is $30.

4 Stars: Made me feel comfortable and welcome (by sillybugger)

This is a nice facility, good for business and casual travellers, and appears to be recently renovated -- it's got nice open public spaces with marble, dark woods, well-placed decor pieces. The room was large and had a view of the bay, and the bathroom was notably large. I stay at hotels all over the world and think this one does a much better job than most at staff training. Maybe because it's such a hospitality-centric town, but the staff were exceptionally approachable and thoughtful. The concierge had a bad address for a nail spa, but the recommendation for the spa (once I got there) was just perfect. I'd stay there on my next trip to SD.

4 Stars: Westin (by Rebecca H.)

The Westin seemed like a very nice place to go with the whole family. The rooms were very nice and the overall decor of everything was very well put together.

4 Stars: Good hotel, but EXPENSIVE parking (by Jean G.)

This was a nice property. Again, the keyword is location, location, location. The rooms are good sized, comfortably, furnished, and with Westin's heavenly beds that can't be beat. The bathroom was good sized, too. All was well maintained, and clean. You could have knocked my socks off when I learned parking was $28 a day. I don't mind paying for parking, but that's expensive. Staff was really attentive, helpful, and friendly.
