This place is quite a field trip. It's a lengthy, windy drive from most of the bay area, but is so rewarding. Native plants galore! You can wander in the planted fields for inspiration, and yet also buy plants immediately. We had the associated landscape designer come to the house for a consultation, which was very helpful. She made recommendations, but wasn't pushy, just like the rest of the staff. You do have to put in some effort, but the results can be fantastic!

Yerba Buena is situated on several wooded acres in Woodside. The owners have planted large tracts with the native plants that they sell, so that you can see how they look and grow in various seasons. They have an extremely knowledgeable staff that will help you select the right plants for your situation, and for a fee will come to your location and work with you to design your landscape. At their Woodside location, there is also a gift shop with lots of native plant, gardening, and nature books. At certain times of the year, they serve teas and brunches as well.
