Joe's is the kind of place that welcomes you in warmly and feeds you delicious seafood. But it doesn't stop there. It's here that good food, good times, and good memories are created everyday. We're a little quirky, but we're proud of it. So strap on a bib, order your favorite bucket of crab and don't be afraid to dance.

In Short
Admittedly kitschy, unavoidably noisy, this Red Lobster for rug rats is like an oversized seaside shanty awash in oceanic memorabilia--fishing nets, souvenir trinkets, plastic flotsam and jetsam. Staffed with a lively crew of G-rated table-dancing servers, the family-friendly chain anchors its menu in all things crab: Crab balls, crab cakes, crab dip, crab gumbo. Finicky children opt for corndogs or hamburgers; shellfish-phobic adults dine on rib eye steak or mesquite-grilled chicken.

The Inside Scoop

  1. Save Money - Discounted menus are offered for seniors, students and large groups.
  2. Know Before You Go - You may want to bring some extra cash to buy a tie-dyed T-shirt or an irreverent pair of boxer shorts from the gift shop.

Celebrate

OK, if you want to have the best birthday dinner; good food, good atmosphere, and great happy birthday song every go to Joe's crab shack. They not only sing to you but they take the birthday person dress them up in some strange outfit and parade them around the resturant. Its terrific. Everyone get in on the birthday fun. And if you dont go there for a birthday the staff jumps into random song and dance numbers through out the night. Its just a great place to eat.

Satisfied that seafood craving

by netter1

When I've got a craving for great seafood we, oftentimes, have to put up with paying extravagant prices in a too-formal setting for not-so-great-food. Joe's makes dining out on seafood fun and relaxed. We live in Northeast LA and Long Beach isn't a neighborhood we frequent often, but we will make the occasional trip to Joe's. It's definitely worth it.

My siblings loved this place

by tyneshad

I brought my younger siblings to this place, and I think they really enjoyed being the focal point of the service. Most places treat kids like an extension of their parents, who will inevitably be ordering and paying for them, but our server helped the little ones through the menu and made them comfortable. I loved the crab gumbo.

Mostly for the Kids

by duanecobb

I'm not a big seafood fan but my wife swears by the BBQ'd Dungenes Crab. I usually stick to surf and turf dishes and the pretty decent bar. The main draw however is the attention paid to the kids. They have a great time and always make a happy plate.

Pros: kid friendly, decent food, nice bar

Cons: , noisy

A Fun Place to Eat

by marykandaras

Joe's Crab Shack is a fun place to eat. It is loud and there are always lots of celebrations going on. The staff sings and dances. This is not a place for a quiet date! The crab is excellent - juicy and priced right. I never can get to dessert because I'm always full. It is busy on the weekends - expect to wait.
