Notre Dame is a traditional, no nonsense institution of learning. Although it has all the niceties of other private schools of its ilk, the emphasis here is on learning and they do a great job! I had to laugh at the earlier post that characterized the high percentage of Catholic students as staggering...uh, Notre Dame is a Catholic School...so, don't stagger anyone, that's pretty typical of secular schools.

PROS: Good for motivated students whose parents can afford the tuition
CONS: none, a great parochial school

I visited Notre Dame one Sunday in the fall for one of their Open Houses. The school is nestled in a residential area of West Los Angeles close to the Santa Monica Freeway. The Academy is a microcosm of the ethnically-diverse community it serves. Most of the students commute from as far north as Malibu and as far south as Palos Verdes. With varied ethnic, social and economic backgrounds this seems to make up what appears to be a progressive and talented student body, and f.y.i., a staggering ninety three percent of the students identify themselves as Catholic.
