Vien Dong Intl

Vien Dong is one of those asian grocery stores. Though they have food from all ethnic backgrounds, they specialize in vietnamese food. Prices here are cheaper then your typical Vons or Ralphs too. The workers here are friendly and would always help you pick out the best produce, but the store is quite.. dirty as i would say. Stuff is cluttered and everywhere and they could use some air freshener.

This place isn't the cleanest place or the most lite place like the national chain markets, but the prices are dirt cheap. I don't know how they manage to sell vegetables at such low prices, but they do. You can find lots of Asian/South American goodies at this that you'll never find at Ralphs/Albertson/Vons...you get what I mean? Once I was browsing through the aisle and found Inca cola from Peru. Peruvian soda in a Vietnamese market? Random, I know, but you'll find some interesting stuff.

Vien Dong Market brings a different flair to the Linda Vista area in San Diego. Boasting a variety of food choices from around the world, Vien Dong is anything but your typical grocery store. Hard to find spices, fruits, vegetables, and other items can be purchased at this store. You can also find every day items like cereal, bread, milk, ice, and so on and so forth. I personally do not like to shop at this store. I find the employees difficult to understand. Many of the employees speak limited English, while others who speak English have heavy accents and trying to figure out what they are saying is difficult. The store also has a heavy fish smell that I find really disgusting. I remember walking in and seeing meat sitting out on the deli counter one time with flies surrounding it. Not my idea of the cleanest, best grocery store in the county, all though there are many who are loyal to the Vien Dong Market.
