The pizza is great and there is such a big selection. It's not that expensive either and you will always have left overs. I would recommend this place to others. Escape From New York Pizza Yes, this is the closest to NY Pizza in San Francisco. Some of the varieties are a little more California than NY (Pesto?). This location in San Francisco's famous Haight district is a favorite of locals and visitors alike, including celebrities like Jack Black of Tenacious D fame, Simpsons creator Matt Groening and even heavy metal band Metallica. The restaurant features classic favorites, as well as specialty and gourmet pizzas. My favorite? You Say Potato, featuring sliced and roasted potatoes and tons of roasted garlic on a bed of pesto sauce.
