This is a great place! All their food is yummy. Just thinking of them makes my mouth water. They have some of the best BBQ around. Greats ribs and even burgers. The staff is friendly and service is great.

thank goodness they put another lucille's around this area, because the one at the long beach town center is always TOO busy. The food, of course, is very good and fulfilling. very clean, fun environment, and great service!

Lucille's Bar B Que has absolutely amazing ribs! The spicey BBQ sauce is also absolutely to die for. Be sure to buy a bottle on your way out.
Lines can indeed get long during peak times such as during weekend dinners. But during lunch times, there is hardly any wait at all.
Meals aren't on the cheap side; but this is a BBQ house, so you can't expect a mcdonald's price meal.

It's a real old fashioned BBQ ribs joint, smokehouse and all. The babyback ribs are smoked for long periods of time, not boiled like some restaurants serve them. They also offer 3 types of BBQ sauce from mild to spicy. I also liked the variety of side dishes I could have, like southern fried greens, coleslaw, beans and vegetables, besides the usual fare of fries and corn. Everything was yummy and I plan to go back again and again!
PROS: Tasty ribs and side dishes were a treat to find in southern California.
CONS: Wait for my dinner to arrive was a bit long.

New Location in Temecula.
I go where the passion behind the food speaks for itself! Lucille's has perfected BBQ and if you are looking for great homestyle American food, this is the place to go!! Originally opened in 1999 in Long Beach, California, Lucille's now has 13 locations in 3 states! I heard the news about a grand opening down in Temecula at the Promenade and rushed over on a Friday night.
We ordered the Grilled Artichoke for starters with a cold brew for him and a Pom Martini for me! My favorite cocktail here: the Cucumber Mojito! YES! Try it, it's so refreshing! My friend had some tender Tri Tip and Baby Back Ribs--he was impressed!
Honestly! How many restaurants do you find that proudly display their smoker in the dining room? Not too many. I loved the 60's style decor, great music, friendly staff, and awesome down home comfort foods! They make everything from scratch including those amazing Homemade Biscuits and Apple Butter!
My only regret is that I didn't stay for a full entre?..but I'll be back very soon to try that Portobello Mushroom Burger the Chef recommended! Chances are, there is a Lucille's near you, so check it out next time you're in the mood for great BBQ!
Pros: Example: best croissants in town
Cons: What are the drawbacks?
I just moved to belmont Shore and I found this place a couple weeks ago. The beef ribs are really good!
Pros: Good ribs
Cons: Can get too busy
Everything i have tried here is amazing...chicken, ribs, salads, etc. The best part though are the biscuits with the apple butter! Yuuummm!
Way overpriced BBQ. Its alright if your that hungry.
Just didn't care for the flavor and textures they offered.
Save your coins, there are alot better Rib Joints for a much lower price tag.
Who would have thought someone could spend 90.00 on simple dinner for 2. Ribs, chicken, 2 sides, 2 ice teas and an appetizer!
Will save my money next time
Pros: NONE
Cons: OVerPriced Mediocre BBQ
When I tell you this is the best BBQ that I have tasted...I ain't lyin'. Old Fashion Flavor BBQ never lets me down when I'm in the mood for some Q. I can even go there and get some turkey neck soup with some kicken hot sauce to make my cold non-existent. If you are an early lunch person you might even catch the cook outdoors on the grill around 11AM. Not into pork? The menu is complete with chicken, chicken and beef links, sliced beef, turkey necks and sides that'll get you hummin' - slaw, mac salad, bbq baked beans, green beans and potato salad. Don't you dare visit Los Angeles and not stop by Old Fashion it's about 5 minutes from Los Angeles Southwest College.

Pros: Fresh Take Out
Cons: No Dine In - Restaurant Coming Soon!
I love me some Lucille's. The meat is always smoked to perfection! And they even have pretty good greens. I've tried so many different dishes and have never been disappointed. I haven't been to this location before but the one in Torrance does a great job of making you feel right at home. This is my spot when I am craving BBQ. I just wish it wasn't so hard on the pocket book.
Pros: Great BBQ and excellent strawberry lemonade. Big portions.
Cons: Pricey if you are use to going to neighborhood rib joints.
Tri tip got the raves at my table last night, although there wasn't much left on the platter in the end at all. The portions are huge and I brought home a doggie bag,but that simply means I will be able to relive my dinner last night for lunch today. The warm biscuits were great and so was the roasted corn. We didn't have room for a dessert even to go.
Pros: Large portions
Cons: Difficult parking
let me just start with the warm biscuits and like apple-butter...LOVE IT!!! then their unique jar glasses with unlimited great drinks...non-alcoholic of course...i even got chocolate milk once!!! THen the dishes, are pretty pricey, not too much but have you seen how big the servings are!!! me and my boyfriend can share a plate with like a barbeque assortment, tri-tip, sausages, chicken, etc....delish, delish...
I must say these are the best bbq ribs i've ate in my entire life. The flavor is unforgetable, the meat is so tender and juicy. You gots to try their tri tip steak it is SABROSO! oh and their service... awsome!!! I highly recommend Lucille's Smokehouse in Long Beach.
Pros: Ambience
Cons: Parking service
I have worked as a hostess and server at this Lucille's location for almost 2 years now, and just wanted to put the "other side of things" here on Citysearch. 95% of our employees will bend over backward to please each customer that chooses to dine here. We take great pride in our food, our staff, and our managers (oh, and the other 5% of employees that don't go the extra mile get weeded out pretty quickly!). Our training is extensive - who knew there was so much to learn about meat?! - and we stay after for sometimes hours with our sidework (seen as extensive by many other restaurants). I dare you to find a cleaner, happier place for workers!! I urge those who have had a bad experience there (rare, judging by the comment cards left for us - which have made my day, often - more than the tip sometimes!!) to please try us again. You're more than welcome to ask for me! I'd be happy to give you a pleasurable dining service to the best of my abilities!! Thanks for taking the time to read my moderately unnecessary rant =) *Erin C.*
Pros: Great food, friendly service, upstairs patio seating
Cons: Loud, difficult parking
I want to thank this restaurant. Every time my boyfriend and I go, they go out of their way to give us great service. A while ago my boyfriend and I tried to eat here and found out the wait was an hour. We decided to try the brea location, so I approached a Lucille's employee emptying the trash outsideand asked for directions. He asked why I wanted to know and when he found out that we were about to drive to brea, he laughed and said that it was great that we would go to such lengths to eat at Lucilles. He turned out to be the district manager. He said that anyone who was willing to go to brea for Lucille's shouldn't have to wait for a table--and he seated us right away! I think that this shows how a great management team supports a great staff.
Pros: Service, Speed, Inexpensive
Cons: Loud
I dined here last night and it was scrumptious. I ordered the back porch platter which has ribs, chicken and tri-tip. All of the meats we sampled were tender and flavorful. The sauce was prominent but not over-powering. I would definetly go back to lucilles.
Pros: great meats, laid back atmosphere
Cons: charged for bread
The BBQ chicken is delicious! Slowly cooked all day, extremely tender and juicy. The service however was just okay. Our waitress forgot our appetizer, and never re-filled our drinks.
I'm a frequent diner of both this location and the LB Town Center location -- for some reason, the 2nd st one has never really measured up. I can't put my finger on it, but something is just missing. The food is still great, though, and the service never disappoints. One pro to this location is that it's never as busy -- I can't remember the last time I've actually had to wait for a table. I miss the old Hof's Hut that was at this location, but I think that the food at Lucille's is better. Don't miss out on the garlic mashed potatoes and the fresh corn!
"The food and ambience at daVinci's is so romantic. I also recommend ..."
